The ★ Karambit | Freehand in Field-Tested (FT) is a CS2 karambit with a blade covered in white marks on a purple field. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case are its sources. The finish's float runs from 0.00 to 0.48 across five wears, and Battle-Scarred takes only the tail of the scale. This wear of the ★ Karambit | Freehand is assigned float 0.15 to 0.38.
What the ★ Karambit | Freehand looks like in Field-Tested
The sickle-shaped blade is covered in a fine hand-drawn pattern: marks, squiggles and schematic figures. The drawing is white over a purple ground, and the blade edge stays light steel. Valve describes the finish as black and purple paint with metallic marker applied over it. The handle is black-gray with deep finger grooves, and the finger ring is purple too, with white marks.
In Field-Tested the marks of wear settle on the inner curve of the edge, on the tip and on the ring. The white drawing on purple still reads through the scuffs. Wear is set at drop, and a karambit with this painting does not rub away further. The wear of the karambit is stretched from 0.15 to 0.38, and that shows on inspection.
What to check before buying
Before buying the ★ Karambit | Freehand, check a few points:
- float: the closer to 0.15, the cleaner the edge and the ring;
- the applied name: the karambit takes a name tag, and it stays on the item after purchase;
- the wear: Factory New costs 1.19 times as much, while the other three wears cost only six to eleven percent more.
What the ★ Karambit | Freehand costs in Field-Tested
With this finish Field-Tested is the cheapest wear. Factory New costs 1.19 times as much, Minimal Wear 1.08 times, Well-Worn 1.06 times, and Battle-Scarred 1.11 times.
Of the eighteen karambit finishes in this wear, eight are cheaper than Freehand and nine are pricier. Ultraviolet, Night and Bright Water lie next to it, with Stained and Damascus Steel slightly above. The cheapest finishes, Boreal Forest, Safari Mesh and Forest DDPAT, are about a quarter lower. Blue Steel, Autotronic and Slaughter cost one and a half times as much or more.
Getting the ★ Karambit | Freehand
A karambit with the Freehand finish drops from two cases, the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case, with random wear. The second route is a contract: five Covert skins turn into one rare special item, with no choice of model or finish. To get a particular wear, buy it as a ready listing.
Is there a StatTrak version
A StatTrak version of the ★ Karambit | Freehand exists in the game.
Who this wear suits
Buying the ★ Karambit | Freehand in Field-Tested is worth it for reasons like these:
- you want a purple karambit with a drawing that still reads on a worn blade;
- your CS2 loadout is built on purple, and the black handle does not fight with the blade;
- price matters: this is the cheapest wear of the finish, although the gap to Factory New is only 1.19 times.
