Description

For the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald, Minimal Wear (MW) takes only the top of the scale: 0.07 to 0.08, an eighth of the finish's own range. Emerald is a rare phase of the Gamma Doppler finish, and among the Covert karambits it holds the top position by price in CS2. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The knife comes from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case.

What the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald looks like in Minimal Wear

Bright green lacquer floods the blade along its whole arc, finger ring included. Toward the point the green is thinned by turquoise and white glints, and at the heel dense dark emerald runs lie. The handle with its finger grooves is gray and unpainted, and the knurling on the spine reads clearly.

By float the wear spans 0.07 to 0.08. What separates it from a factory-fresh copy comes down to two places: the inner curve of the edge and the ring lighten to bare metal first. The rest of the arc stays densely green in Minimal Wear, and the turquoise glints at the point are intact.

Phase and pattern

Gamma Doppler has five variants: Phases 1 to 4 and Emerald. The gems Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl do not exist on this finish at all; they went to Doppler alone. Emerald itself sits in CS2 on ten knives and on one gun, the Glock-18.

The buyer reads the phase right in the item name, so Emerald is chosen explicitly. Within Phases 1 to 4, copies differ by pattern index: on Phase 3 the variant leaning turquoise is called "BTA Cyan". For the karambit, the pattern guide also keeps separate pattern groups, Sigma and Delta. On Emerald the pattern index shifts how the texture is overlaid on the green layer.

Where the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald came from

Valve made the finish itself, and no Workshop submission exists for it. In the catalog of finishes, Gamma Doppler carries number 568. It was released on June 15, 2016, in the Gamma Exposure update, which opened the Gamma Case alongside it. The same knife also sits in the Gamma 2 Case. In its post for the May 24, 2024 update, Valve listed Gamma Doppler among the finishes whose look was corrected.

What to check before buying

A ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald listing is chosen by these signs:

  • the phase in the name: bright Phase 3 copies look like Emerald in a thumbnail, but that is a different item;

  • the float: in Minimal Wear it does not drop below 0.07;

  • the applied name: the karambit takes a name tag, and someone else's text stays on the item;

  • the version: the StatTrak™ one is a separate item.

The 0.07 to 0.08 band is tight, and the copies at its extremes differ only by the number.

What the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald costs in Minimal Wear

Emerald is the priciest Gamma Doppler phase on this model. Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 1, Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 4 and Karambit | Gamma Doppler Phase 3 cost about three times less. Lower still are Karambit | Fade and Karambit | Doppler Phase 4. Among the Covert karambit finishes in Minimal Wear, Emerald is the most expensive.

The finish has one neighboring wear: Factory New takes everything below 0.07. The Minimal Wear band is seven times narrower, and in price the two wears sit side by side.

Getting the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald

Two cases carry this knife: the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case. Emerald arrives from them as one of the phases, and you cannot choose the phase at opening; of the series' phases, Emerald is the rarest. The remaining route is a contract: five Covert skins of one collection give a random rare special item.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald has a StatTrak™ version; no Souvenir release was ever made.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear on the ★ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald is worth buying when:

  • you want the brightest green blade in the Covert karambit rank;

  • a factory-fresh copy is not required, and two light spots on the curve and the ring do not bother you;

  • your set already has green and turquoise accents that the blade will play off.
