What the ★ Shadow Daggers | Doppler Phase 1 look like in Factory New

This is a pair of short blades with crossbar handles, in which finger openings are cut out. The handle frames are pink-red, and a black badge is visible on the crossbar. The blades pass from pink at the base to lilac and blue at the tip, with dark swirls spreading across the flat. Valve writes that the knives are covered with black and silver metallic paint over a marbled base and sealed with a clear colored lacquer.

In Factory New the lacquer is intact on the edges of the blades and the handle frames. The float of a copy is set at the drop and stays the same.

Where the ★ Shadow Daggers | Doppler Phase 1 came from

Doppler came out on January 8, 2015, and its number in Valve's catalog is 418. Valve itself drew the finish. It reached the Shadow Daggers later and drops from the Spectrum Case and Spectrum 2 Case.

Phase and pattern

The buyer chooses Phase 1 on the page and does not pull it out of a case, because the phase is in the item name. Phases 1 to 4 are regular. Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl count as gems: these are rare variants of the finish. Inside Phase 1 the copies differ as well, since the pattern index changes the placement and ratio of colors on the blades.

What to check before buying

In a ★ Shadow Daggers | Doppler Phase 1 listing, these parameters are checked:

• the phase in the lot title: gems and regular phases are sold as separate items, and the price between them diverges by multiples;

• the lot image: copies of one phase differ in pattern, so the blades are compared by the picture;

• an applied name: a name tag is possible on the Shadow Daggers and stays on the item after purchase.

At 0.00 to 0.07 the spread on the ★ Shadow Daggers | Doppler Phase 1 is so small that choosing by float is pointless.

What the ★ Shadow Daggers | Doppler Phase 1 cost in Factory New

Minimal Wear is noticeably dearer than the top wear. The scale of the finish is short, so the price is moved not by wear but by the phase and the listing itself.

Among the phases of the Shadow Daggers, Phase 3 is about an eighth cheaper than Phase 1, and Phase 4 is a few percent dearer. Phase 2 is noticeably dearer. Sapphire is about twice Phase 1, Ruby nearly three times, and Black Pearl is dearer than all other gems.

Of the twenty-nine Shadow Daggers finishes, sixteen are cheaper than Phase 1 and twelve dearer. Urban Masked and Fade stand level with it, and Ultraviolet is a little higher. The cheapest, Bright Water, Freehand and Black Laminate, are two to three times lower than Phase 1.
