Description

Factory New (FN) on the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald is the top of the Gamma Doppler finish on this model. It carries a kill counter on the blade besides. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The knife comes from two cases, the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case. The finish does not rise above 0.08, so there are two wears: Factory New and Minimal Wear (MW).

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald looks like in Factory New

Green covers the whole curve of the blade and carries over onto the finger ring. Toward the tip the green is thinned with white and light blue; at the heel it is dense and dark emerald. The gray handle with its finger grooves takes no paint, and the knurling on the spine reads clearly.

The float runs from 0.00 to 0.07. The lacquer comes off first on the ring and along the inner curve of the edge, but in this wear no metal shows anywhere.

Phase and pattern

Emerald exists only on Gamma Doppler: in the game data this phase sits on ten knives and on the Glock-18, the only gun with the finish. Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl, by contrast, do not occur on Gamma Doppler. In CS2 all these rare variants are called gems collectively.

The phase is written into the item name, so Emerald is bought on purpose, and the pattern index comes with the listing. The index shifts the balance of green, turquoise and black along the blade. Sources offer no confirmation of a premium for a lucky index inside Emerald, and such a premium is not priced in.

Where the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald came from

Valve made the finish itself, and no Steam Workshop submission stands behind Gamma Doppler. In the Valve catalog the finish carries number 568. It came to the game on June 15, 2016, with the Gamma Exposure update and the first Gamma Case. The look of Gamma Doppler was reworked in CS2 later, as Valve wrote in a post dated May 24, 2024.

What to check before buying

Listings of the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald are compared on this:

  • the counter reading: the number is in the listing description and cannot be reset after purchase;

  • the phase: Phases 1 to 4 have their own pages, and turquoise copies look like green Emerald from a distance;

  • the float: it does not change the look inside the wear, but the number is still checked;

  • the applied name: if the item was renamed, the text stays on it.

In this wear the knife sits in a short stretch of 0.00 to 0.07, so there is no point chasing the number.

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald costs in Factory New

The counter adds percentages to the price: the StatTrak™ version starts about six percent above the normal one. Among the Covert StatTrak™ karambit finishes, Emerald is third from the top. Karambit | Doppler Black Pearl and Karambit | Doppler Ruby cost more, and the gap between those three is small. Then comes a drop. Karambit | Case Hardened and Karambit | Doppler Sapphire are more than one and a half times cheaper than Emerald. The numbered Gamma Doppler phases are three times cheaper or more.

The scale divides unevenly: Minimal Wear gets only the 0.07 to 0.08 stretch, and Factory New gets everything below.

Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald

The Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case hand the karambit over as a rare ★ item, and neither the phase nor the counter is chosen at opening.

That leaves a craft from five Covert skins of one collection. The result is random, and for it to come out with a counter, StatTrak™ must be on each of the five inputs.

StatTrak and Normal

Emerald is also made in a normal version without the counter, and that listing starts cheaper. The finish never had a Souvenir version.

Who this wear suits

Factory New on the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit | Gamma Doppler Emerald makes sense under these conditions:

  • you want the top of the Gamma Doppler series, with a counter included;

  • green leads in your set, and the karambit's gray handle does not get in its way;

  • there should be no bare spots along the inner curve of the edge or on the ring;

  • the counter reading in the listing suits you, and you plan to build it up yourself.
