★ StatTrak™ Karambit

The ★ StatTrak™ Karambit is the Karambit in CS2 with a kill counter and no skin. The listing carries no skin, and its description reads "Not Painted". Covert rank, with the ★ mark. There is no wear tier, wear or pattern; listings differ only in the kill count on the counter.

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit looks like

The Karambit's blade is a sickle with the point curved down. The steel is bare, with a soft highlight and a light ripple of grinding across the flat, and no artwork. Small markings are stamped near the base of the blade, and they are part of the model.

The handle is black and ribbed, with finger grooves and a ring at the butt. The knife's color comes from the steel and the dark handle. Both versions look the same.

How the plain ★ StatTrak™ Karambit differs from a skinned one

A skinned Karambit gives you things to compare: wear tier, float, sometimes a phase. This listing offers a narrower choice:

• there is no wear, so the float band goes unnamed;

• there are no pattern or phases, so copies are identical;

• a name tag can be applied, and knives have no stickers;

• only the counter reading is left to compare.

The choice boils down to a pair: normal or with a counter.

What the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit costs

By starting price the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit costs more than twenty-one of the model's skins and less than thirteen. The nearest below are Marble Fade (1.04 times cheaper), Slaughter (1.17 times) and Tiger Tooth (1.20 times).

Right above come three Doppler phases: Phase 3 costs 18 percent more, Phase 1 24 percent, Phase 4 27 percent. The gems sit highest: Gamma Doppler Emerald costs 7.3 times as much, Doppler Ruby 7.6 times, Doppler Black Pearl almost nine times.

StatTrak and the normal version

The normal ★ Karambit has its own page. The counter tallies kills made with this knife, never resets, and moves to the buyer along with its number. The premium over the normal version is symbolic on this model: about 2 percent.

Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit

In CS2 the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit drops from eleven older cases, including the eSports 2013 Case, the CS:GO Weapon Case 2 and the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case. It sits in the rare special item pool next to the skins and drops at random.

The second route is a contract of five Covert StatTrak™ skins. The contract does not determine the model itself, so a Karambit does not always come out of it.

Who it suits

Buying the ★ StatTrak™ Karambit on LIS-SKINS makes sense when:

• you want the Karambit shape and a counter, and have no need for artwork on the steel;

• you would rather not sort out phases: this listing has none;

• paying for Doppler phases is not needed: they cost only 18, 24 and 27 percent more.
