The ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife is the Talon with a kill counter and no skin in CS2. It has no paint, and the listing says "Not Painted". Covert rank, with the ★ mark. With no wear, float or pattern, listings differ only by the number on the counter.
What the ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife looks like
The Talon's blade is curved like a sickle. Teeth line the spine, with three round holes next to them. The steel is bare, with a dark and a light highlight across the flat and no pattern.
The handle is built from pale, ivory-colored plates with golden rivets and a round inset at the center. A steel finger ring sits at the butt. The counter version looks just like the normal one.
How the plain ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife differs from a skinned one
A Talon with a skin has a wear grade and a pattern. A Talon without one makes the listing simpler:
- there is no wear, and no float band is given;
- there is no pattern, and one copy cannot be told from another;
- you may add a name tag, though never a sticker;
- the difference between listings is the counter reading.
That leaves a single choice: normal or with a counter.
What the ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife costs
Within the model's skins, the ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife costs more than eleven by starting price and less than twelve. The nearest below are Crimson Web (1.09 times cheaper), Damascus Steel (1.12 times) and Stained (1.25 times).
Above come Blue Steel (4 percent more), Case Hardened (7 percent) and Tiger Tooth (1.4 times). Doppler tops the ladder: Phase 2 costs 2.8 times as much, Sapphire 4.8 times, Ruby 8.6 times.
StatTrak and the normal version
A normal Talon exists too, on its own page. The counter tallies kills made with this copy, never resets, and passes to the buyer as it stands. The premium over the normal version is about 5 percent.
Getting the ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife
The ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife drops from the Prisma Case, Prisma 2 Case, Horizon Case and Danger Zone Case. The Danger Zone Case was released on December 7, 2018. In the rare special item pool the knife sits alongside the skins and comes out at random.
Another route is a trade-up contract of five Covert StatTrak™ skins. Whether a Talon Knife is what comes back cannot be known in advance.
Who it suits
Buying the ★ StatTrak™ Talon Knife on LIS-SKINS makes sense when:
- you need a sickle blade with a light handle and a kill counter;
- artwork on the steel is of no use to you;
- you do not want to pay extra for Doppler Phase 2, which costs 2.8 times as much.
