The AK-47 | Baroque Purple in Field-Tested (FT) has a float from 0.15 to 0.38. It is an Industrial Grade rifle from The Canals Collection. The skin has no case, and its name promises a color that the skin itself does not show.
What the AK-47 | Baroque Purple looks like in Field-Tested
The rifle is wrapped in a dense wallpaper ornament in a damask style: small curls and floral medallions. The background is a cool graphite gray, and the pattern is light gray, almost silver. There is no purple tint here, despite the name.
The ornament covers the handguard, the side of the receiver, the pistol grip and the stock. The barrel, gas tube, magazine and front sight are an even dark tone, and the top cover is clean too. Up close you see symmetrical curls, leaves, grain between them, rivets on the receiver and a tiny unreadable inscription.
In Field-Tested the pattern looks faded and grainy, and along the ridges of the handguard and stock it all but vanishes. A light pattern on a dark ground is the first thing to sink as wear sets in.
Where the AK-47 | Baroque Purple came from
The skin came out in The Canals Collection on November 19, 2019, together with the Shattered Web operation: in the update note Valve named Canals among four new collections. Valve describes it as an intricate hydrographic pattern in an Italian spirit, with the caption "Last Supper is served". We have no data on the author.
What to check before buying
When choosing an AK-47 | Baroque Purple, compare the following:
- float: across 0.15 to 0.38 the wear is visible to the eye, so compare the number in the listing;
- the artwork is applied identically across the whole run, so pattern plays no part in the choice;
- stickers and a name tag already on the AK-47 | Baroque Purple copy.
What the AK-47 | Baroque Purple costs in Field-Tested
The main step for this skin lies in the top wear:
- Factory New costs more than thirteen times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs a little over one and a half times as much;
- Well-Worn is cheaper by a few percent;
- Battle-Scarred is cheaper by a hair more.
Among the six Industrial Grade AK-47 skins, the Baroque Purple sits in the middle. Above it come AK-47 | Predator at about three times and AK-47 | Jungle Spray at a third more. Below are AK-47 | Safari Mesh, AK-47 | VariCamo Grey and AK-47 | Olive Polycam, the last two cheaper by an order of magnitude.
Getting the AK-47 | Baroque Purple
The AK-47 | Baroque Purple does not appear in CS2 cases. It can also be had through a trade-up: ten skins one rank lower, from one set.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The AK-47 | Baroque Purple has no StatTrak version and no ready-made Souvenir packages. A Souvenir copy can be made through the Souvenir-O-Matic.
Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Baroque Purple
The gray ornament fills almost the whole side, and a small sticker in CS2 drowns in the curls. Large stickers with a dark outline, or bright colored ones, work better. Clean spots remain on the barrel and magazine, where there is no pattern.
Who this wear suits
The AK-47 | Baroque Purple in Field-Tested is a reasonable buy in these situations:
- you want an Industrial Grade AK-47 with a dense ornament rather than smooth paint;
- the Factory New price is not justified, and Minimal Wear costs noticeably more;
- you want a gray skin rather than a purple one: the name misleads here.
