Description

The AK-47 | Breakthrough in Field-Tested (FT) shows black-and-white graphics that are already scuffed but have no knocked-out spots. Field-Tested covers floats from 0.15 to 0.38. The skin is Restricted rank and belongs to the Achroma Collection, which is made up entirely of gray artwork.

What the AK-47 | Breakthrough looks like in Field-Tested

The base is black-gray, with wide white-gray diagonal stripes laid over it, ragged at the edges and flecked with fine dots. The handguard, gas tube, sides and cover of the receiver, and the stock are painted; the magazine, grip and barrel stay as bare dark metal. There is no lettering, numbering or logo anywhere in the finish.

Valve itself describes the artwork as aggressive Z-shaped marks over a carbon base. On the model those marks read as brush strokes. The stripes run in one unbroken line across the handguard, receiver and stock, and the letter can be guessed only from the slant.

In Field-Tested wear settles on the narrow strokes along the handguard ribs and the corners of the stock, where the white stripe is thinnest. The broad white mark on the flat side of the receiver lasts longer. The black base hides scratches on its own, so the rifle in this wear looks closer to clean than to battered.

Where the AK-47 | Breakthrough came from

The finish was drawn at Valve itself, and there is no Steam Workshop submission behind it. The Achroma Collection came out on January 21, 2026. The note for that update says only that two sets were added to the list of weekly rewards, Achroma among them. In Valve's catalog the finish is number 1358.

What to check before buying

For the AK-47 | Breakthrough it is worth checking the following:

  • the float: it shows how far the carbon weave has blurred on the edges;

  • stickers and a name tag: on the AK-47 | Breakthrough they go with the listing;

  • whether it is a Souvenir release or an ordinary one, since they are priced differently.

The AK-47 | Breakthrough in this wear can be bought with very different amounts of wear, because the 0.15 to 0.38 band is wide.

What the AK-47 | Breakthrough costs in Field-Tested

Prices across the wears of the AK-47 | Breakthrough do not follow the usual order:

  • Factory New costs about four times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs about twice as much;

  • Well-Worn costs about a seventh more, though it looks worse;

  • Battle-Scarred is cheaper by only a few percent.

The cause is stripe width: the scale of this finish ends at 0.75, Field-Tested takes about a third of its length, and Well-Worn less than a tenth. There is no point going below Field-Tested, since below it you pay more for a worse look.

Among Restricted AK-47 skins in this wear, the AK-47 | Breakthrough is second from the bottom of nine: only the AK-47 | Emerald Pinstripe is cheaper. Right above come the AK-47 | Safety Net and the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate, then the AK-47 | Rat Rod and the AK-47 | Slate. The top of the rank belongs to the AK-47 | First Class.

Getting the AK-47 | Breakthrough

This skin is in no case: the Achroma Collection is handed out as weekly rewards for time played. A contract for the AK-47 | Breakthrough takes ten skins of the rank below. The AUG | Creep, P90 | Aeolian Light or P2000 | Grip Tape will do. The set has two Restricted skins, so the rifle comes out every other time.

An AK-47 of this rank also works as an input: ten Restricted skins from the set yield the AWP | The End, the one Classified finish in the collection.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Breakthrough

No StatTrak version of the AK-47 | Breakthrough was ever issued. Souvenir copies exist, though no packages were made for this finish: they were made only for the tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from your inventory.

The gray-black base takes any color, and for a CS2 craft it is one of the easier backgrounds. Bright stickers read at once on the monochrome: red, yellow and green all work equally well. Gray and white ones get lost among the strokes. The bare magazine gives one more clean surface, which painted finishes do not have.

Who this wear suits

Buying the AK-47 | Breakthrough here, in Field-Tested, makes sense under these conditions:

  • you want an inexpensive AK-47 for CS2 in a strict gray palette;

  • you are preparing a cheap base for stickers;

  • you are collecting inputs for a contract into the AWP | The End.

The gray palette without a single spot of color is the finish's main limit: in a set it works as a background, not as the centerpiece.
