This is the AK-47 | Jaguar in Field-Tested (FT), and its price nearly matches the skin's two lowest wears. It is Covert rank, and the rifle drops from the eSports 2014 Summer Case. The finish is named after a big cat, but the cat appears on the model only as a thin outline, and only on the receiver cover.

What the AK-47 | Jaguar looks like in Field-Tested

The handguard, receiver sides, pistol grip and magazine are covered in swamp-green camouflage with sandy and dark swirls. The receiver cover is dark olive, almost black. Across it runs a sand-green outline of a large cat, with the muzzle toward the front sight and the body stretched toward the rear sight. Near the front of the receiver a red dot can be made out, the eye of the figure.

The stock and lower guard are left as ginger wood, and the barrel and gas tube are dark metal. From two steps away the AK-47 reads as green tiger camouflage plus ginger wood, and the cat outline is noticeable only up close.

In Field-Tested the wear is already visible: the green edges of the handguard, the magazine ribs and the corners of the receiver sides lighten. The outline is made of thin light lines on a dark cover, and at the folds of the cover it breaks up early. The wood of the stock does not affect how a listing looks, since there is no paint on it.

Where the AK-47 | Jaguar came from

The finish was made by Valve itself and has no Steam Workshop submission. The eSports 2014 Summer collection appeared on July 10, 2014, and the case of the same name arrived in the game with it. In the Valve skin catalog the AK-47 | Jaguar is number 316.

What to check before buying

A listing is chosen on two points:

• the float: the wear is given the stretch from 0.15 to 0.38, and near the upper limit the cat outline at the folds of the cover is already torn;


• the name tag and stickers already applied to the listing.

The AK-47 | Jaguar has one and the same artwork on every copy, and rare copies do not exist. The same wear here covers both 0.15 and 0.38, and such listings look different.

What the AK-47 | Jaguar costs in Field-Tested

Factory New on the AK-47 | Jaguar costs about five times as much, and Minimal Wear one and a half times. Going down, the price barely moves: Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are cheaper by a few percent, so the three lower wears cost almost the same.

There are twenty-four Covert AK-47 skins with a price in this wear, and the Jaguar stands exactly in the middle: eleven are cheaper, twelve dearer. The first route is the eSports 2014 Summer Case. The second way to the AK-47 | Jaguar is a contract of ten skins one rank lower from the same collection; there are two Covert skins in the set, so the chance of landing exactly the Jaguar is one in two.

The Jaguar itself also goes into a craft. This collection's Covert skins go into a knife contract: Bayonet, Flip Knife, Gut Knife, Karambit or M9 Bayonet.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Jaguar has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish do exist too, but no packages were released for it: they were made only for the map tournament collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Jaguar

Green camouflage makes a busy background, and small stickers get lost on it. Large light stickers hold up better, and red ones pick up the cat's eye on the front of the receiver. For a craft in CS2 the magazine and handguard are left, and the cover with the outline is not covered with a sticker.

Who this wear suits

Buying this skin in Field-Tested makes sense if:

• the AK-47 is for playing CS2, not for a collection;


• the green camouflage itself matters, not the integrity of the thin outline;


• you have time to choose a listing by float, since at 0.15 and 0.38 the look is different.

Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred cost almost the same, so there is no point dropping below Field-Tested to save money.
