AK-47 | Midnight Laminate (Battle-Scarred)

The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate in Battle-Scarred (BS) covers the float band 0.45 to 0.75. The skin's scale is cut off at the top, and there is no wear above 0.75. It is a Restricted skin from The Ascent Collection, drawn by Valve itself. For CS2, this is the cheapest of the finish's five wears.

What the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate looks like in Battle-Scarred

The metal is painted dark purple with an iridescent sheen, which covers the receiver, top cover, gas tube and magazine. The handguard, stock and grip are blue with a greenish tint. A layered, plywood-like texture is applied to the stock and handguard, with the grain forming rings, and the receiver shows a light grain.

Light shows through first at the stock corners and the handguard edge, where the blue fades toward gray. In Battle-Scarred this is at its most visible.

Where the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate came from

The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate was released on March 31, 2025. The author is Valve itself, with no outside artist, and the finish is number 1218 in Valve's catalog. The same day, The Ascent Collection, together with Boreal and Radiant, went onto the weekly reward list.

What to check before buying

It pays to check these points before paying for an AK-47 | Midnight Laminate:

• float: in this wear, copies come from the 0.45 to 0.75 band, and the look at the two ends of the band is different;

• pattern: the artwork is fixed, so there is nothing to choose;

• stickers and a name change, if the rifle has them.

What the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate costs in Battle-Scarred

Battle-Scarred is the lowest price among the five wears. Factory New costs 6.0 times as much, Minimal Wear 3.1 times, Field-Tested 1.2 times and Well-Worn 1.6 times.

Among the eight Restricted AK-47s with a price in this wear, this skin is dearer than two: Emerald Pinstripe and Breakthrough. Above it are Safety Net, Slate, Rat Rod, Orbit Mk01 and First Class.

Getting the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate

The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate never appeared in cases. Instead, The Ascent Collection is handed out through the weekly reward for time played. The second route is a trade-up: ten Mil-Spec skins make one Restricted skin, and the result is taken from the collection of one of the inputs. If you want The Ascent Collection specifically, put in skins from it; that is a choice, not a rule.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Midnight Laminate has no StatTrak version and no Souvenir version.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate

Purple metal and blue wood make a cold palette, and warm stickers stand out on it most. On a worn Battle-Scarred rifle the lightening edges add noise to the background, so larger stickers are the better pick.

Who this wear suits

Battle-Scarred on the AK-47 | Midnight Laminate is worth buying for three reasons:

• the price is the lowest of any wear of the finish;

• it gives you a Restricted AK-47 for a trade-up contract;

• it brings a vivid purple-and-blue finish without paying extra.
