Description

The AK-47 | Point Disarray in Field-Tested (FT) is the middle wear on the scale of this AK with a geometric pattern. The float band assigned to this wear is 0.15 to 0.38. It is of Classified rank, and the skin drops from the Revolver Case. The collection was released on December 11, 2015.

What the AK-47 | Point Disarray looks like in Field-Tested

The body is covered in geometric hydrographic print: small colored triangles that thicken toward the receiver and thin out toward the stock. Up close it is chaos, and from a distance it settles into a smooth shift from warm tones to cool ones, which is what Valve's description hints at. In Field-Tested the edges wear away, and on a mosaic background this barely stands out: bare metal reads as one more shade. The density of the pattern works in the buyer's favor.

What to check before buying

Two things to check:

  • float: on a busy base it matters less than usual, so the top of the band is no great worry here;

  • stickers already on the listing, and any name tag.

Nobody pays extra for pattern here, because the artwork is the same on every copy.

The 0.15 to 0.38 band is wide, but the mosaic masks wear, so the two ends of the band differ less than usual.

What the AK-47 | Point Disarray costs in Field-Tested

The wears line up like this:

  • Factory New is about four times dearer;

  • Minimal Wear is dearer by close to a half;

  • Well-Worn costs about a third more;

  • Battle-Scarred costs almost the same.

One thing here is unusual: Well-Worn costs about a third more than the cleaner Field-Tested. The scale for this skin ends at 0.67, and Well-Worn gets a narrow band, 0.38 to 0.45, about a tenth of the scale, whereas Field-Tested gets almost a third. For the buyer that is convenient: there is no need to pay for a neater look, since Field-Tested is both cheaper and cleaner here.

Getting the AK-47 | Point Disarray

The AK-47 | Point Disarray comes from the Revolver Case, and the skin's collection is the same.

There is a second route as well, the trade-up contract: ten skins one rank lower give one Classified skin, and the inputs decide which collection it comes from. The wear of the result follows the wear of the inputs, so the middle of the scale is the easiest to assemble.

One step up sits Covert rank: ten Classified skins of the Revolver Case set give either M4A4 | Royal Paladin or R8 Revolver | Fade. Covert skins here cost roughly six times as much as Classified ones. So the collection's Classified rank is spent on inputs all the time, and of its three Classified skins the Point Disarray is the dearest.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AK-47 | Point Disarray has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for this finish, since those were made only for tournament map collections. A Souvenir copy can still be built by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic fits golden tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from the inventory. So a Souvenir copy can exist even where no packages ever did.

Stickers and craft on the AK-47 | Point Disarray

The mosaic base of the AK-47 | Point Disarray is one of the hardest backgrounds for stickers in CS2: small stickers dissolve into it. Only large, dense ones with a heavy outline work, black or white being best. Colored stickers fight the triangles head-on. The place for a craft is better sought nearer the stock, where the pattern thins out. That is also where a single sticker usually goes.

Who this wear suits

The Point Disarray in Field-Tested is a reasonable buy when one of these holds:

  • you want a busy AK for CS2 on which wear is barely visible;

  • you want to avoid overpaying: Field-Tested here costs less than the more battered Well-Worn;

  • a wide float band inside one wear is what you want.

Up close the artwork breaks into triangles, and in the inventory it looks finer-grained than you expect from the preview.
