AUG | Chameleon (Well-Worn)

Well-Worn (WW) is the fourth of the five steps on the AUG | Chameleon, with a float of 0.38 to 0.45. It is a Covert skin of The Phoenix Collection whose scale is cut off at 0.50. WW takes 14% of that scale, and its price is nearly the same as the neighboring Battle-Scarred.

What the AUG | Chameleon looks like in Well-Worn

The base is dark gray, almost graphite, and a thin red line runs along the top of the receiver. The main detail is the chameleon on the stock: green, with orange-yellow strokes. The other parts (barrel, scope, grip, magazine) have no coloring.

A well-worn look means visible scuffing across the body, while the artwork on the stock stays recognizable. The float value is recorded when the skin drops, and a copy at 0.40 will remain a 0.40.

Where the AUG | Chameleon came from

The Phoenix Collection was released together with the operation on February 20, 2014, and the AUG | Chameleon has been in the set since the release. In that note Valve mentioned a case with 13 community finishes.

What to check before buying

A Well-Worn AUG | Chameleon listing is judged on three points:

• float from 0.38 to 0.45: the band is narrow, and the listings at its ends barely differ;


• whatever stickers and name tag the listing already carries;


• StatTrak or a regular copy.

The skin has no other artwork, and any two copies differ only in wear. So buyers look at the float number rather than the pattern.

What the AUG | Chameleon costs in Well-Worn

Set against Well-Worn, the other wears look like this:

• Factory New costs 19% more;


• Minimal Wear costs 9% more;


• Field-Tested costs 7% more;


• Battle-Scarred is level.

Among Covert AUGs there is also AUG | Akihabara Accept: in Well-Worn it costs about four times as much as the Chameleon.

Getting the AUG | Chameleon

A trade-up contract for this skin takes ten skins from the rank below. Build them from The Phoenix Collection and the result is the Chameleon or AWP | Asiimov, with a chance of one in two. The skin itself drops from the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, and five Covert skins give a rare special item with the ★ mark.

StatTrak and Souvenir

StatTrak exists for the AUG | Chameleon. Souvenir packages were not released with it.

Stickers and craft on the AUG | Chameleon

A well-worn body is scratched already, so stickers go on without any contrast against clean paint. Light stickers read best on the dark base. It is better not to cover the stock with the lizard.

Who this wear suits

Well-Worn on the AUG | Chameleon is worth buying for three reasons:

• you want the chameleon on the stock in CS2 and do not want to pay extra for the upper wears;


• the price is nearly equal to Battle-Scarred, while the band of 0.38 to 0.45 sits higher in float terms;


• you want a Covert skin of The Phoenix Collection for a set or a craft.
