Description

The AWP | Acheron in Field-Tested (FT) is the working middle of the scale, on a rifle you will not find in ordinary cases. The float band is 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Mil-Spec skin, and the finish belongs to the 2018 Nuke Collection.

What the AWP | Acheron looks like in Field-Tested

The body is assembled from torn poster scraps pasted over a gray-steel base: scarlet, white and cream pieces of paper, with blue and ochre inserts between them. The scraps lie densest on the receiver and stock and thin out toward the handguard, and the barrel is left dark. A separate blue plate sits at the muzzle. There is no single scene: it is a deliberately ragged collage in which the fragments overlap. Pieces of letters and printed marks show on the paper but cannot be read, and the edges of the scraps are lifted and frayed.

In this wear the corners of the scraps on protruding edges are the first to go: the paper seems to tear away there, and gray metal shows through. At the lower end of the band the collage is still dense, while at the upper end metal gaps run along the ribs of the receiver. Large fragments on the flats stay intact, so the AWP is recognizable here too.

Pattern variance on the AWP | Acheron

The pattern index is rolled on this finish. It shifts the overlay, so copies differ in which scraps landed on the visible flats. The source names no rare variants, so there is nothing to pay extra for in a number. The thing to look at is something else: whether the scarlet paper landed on the side of the receiver or went under the scope.

Where the AWP | Acheron came from

The 2018 Nuke Collection came out on September 3, 2018. In Valve's skin catalog the rifle is number 788. The finish has no Steam Workshop submission: Valve drew the artwork itself, and the set was built around the updated map.

What to check before buying

When picking an AWP | Acheron listing, this is what counts:

  • the layout of the scraps, since the pattern index moves the collage around the body;

  • the float: toward the upper limit of the wear, gaps show on the ribs of the receiver;

  • the stickers and name tag this AWP | Acheron inherited from a previous owner.

In this wear the AWP | Acheron spans both 0.15 and 0.38, and such listings look different.

What the AWP | Acheron costs in Field-Tested

Against the neighboring wears the ratios are:

  • Factory New costs more than ten times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs about two and a half times more;

  • Well-Worn costs about a third more;

  • Battle-Scarred is about a tenth cheaper.

So Well-Worn costs more than this wear even though its body is more scuffed. It comes down to band width: Well-Worn gets 0.38 to 0.45 of the scale, a third of the width of Field-Tested.

Among Mil-Spec AWPs, in this wear the AWP | Acheron is third of five counting up. Below it are the AWP | Arsenic Spill and the AWP | Capillary, and above it the AWP | Black Nile. The most expensive in the rank is the AWP | Snake Camo, a finish that stands two orders of magnitude apart from the rest.

Getting the AWP | Acheron

The finish has no regular case. Copies come from the Souvenir packages of tournaments held on Nuke, and there are more than ten such packages, from London 2018 to Budapest 2025. Besides Souvenir packages there is the trade-up: ten skins of the rank below from this collection give the AWP | Acheron.

StatTrak and Souvenir

No StatTrak version of the AWP | Acheron was released, and a Souvenir variant exists.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Acheron

The body is mottled, and any sticker fights the collage, since there is almost no flat solid field. Large dark stickers read best, while small light ones sink into the paper scraps. In CS2 the calmest spot is on the barrel and the lower part of the handguard.

Who this wear suits

An AWP | Acheron in this particular wear makes sense when:

  • you want a mottled AWP for CS2 without paying extra for the clean wears;

  • the layout of the collage matters more than perfect edges;

  • you are ready to compare listings within the band by float.

Toward 0.38 the metal gaps on the ribs already show in the preview. The dense collage is what you pay extra for in Minimal Wear, and the step up there is a noticeable one.
