AWP | Black Box (Battle-Scarred)

Battle-Scarred (BS) is the bottom wear of the AWP | Black Box and the longest one: the band runs from 0.45 to 1.00, more than half of the float scale. It is a Restricted skin from The Spy Tech Collection, and the rifle is available to both sides.

What the AWP | Black Box looks like in Battle-Scarred

The finish is matte, a dark graphite over almost the whole length. Its only bright accent is a thin orange diagonal stripe on the receiver. The scope is black with a green lens, and the bipod and barrel are in the same range. There are no patterns or lettering: Valve calls the finish matte black paint with an orange stripe.

In Battle-Scarred the even matte coat is dotted with scuffs, and gray metal shows through on the edges and at the corners of the stock. The orange stripe loses its crispness wherever wear touches it. Wear is set at drop and does not grow.

Where the AWP | Black Box came from

NOLFUT made the finish, and it is number 1467 in the Valve catalog. The submission reached the Workshop on April 26, 2025 as "AWP | Black box". The author wrote: "The last shot, recorded forever." His inspiration was the black boxes of crashed airliners. The matte surface stands for oblivion, and the orange diagonal for a distress signal that went unanswered.

The skin has stood in The Spy Tech Collection since the collection's release on July 8, 2026.

What to check before buying

Before buying an AWP | Black Box, check the following:

• float: the stretch from 0.45 to 1.00 holds very different looks, and the number matters more than the label;


• the state of the orange stripe: it should read along the whole length of the receiver;


• stickers and a name tag the AWP | Black Box received from the previous owner.

All copies of the AWP | Black Box carry the same pattern.

What the AWP | Black Box costs in Battle-Scarred

Getting the AWP | Black Box

The AWP | Black Box does not drop from cases.

A trade-up contract works too: it needs ten skins of the rank below, with no tie to a single collection. The result depends on the sets of the inputs. Ten skins from The Spy Tech Collection narrow the choice to the three Restricted skins of that set, and the AWP comes out with a one-in-three chance.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AWP | Black Box has no StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for the finish, but you can make a Souvenir copy yourself through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Black Box

The matte dark stock and receiver leave plenty of room for stickers. Bright ones stand out on graphite more than dark ones do. The orange stripe crosses the receiver, so it is better to place a sticker below its line.

Who this wear suits

Battle-Scarred on the AWP | Black Box is worth buying for three reasons:

• it is a dark CS2 AWP, cheaper than any other wear of the finish;


• the matte dark finish lets scuffs read as deliberate style;


• you choose the float across a wide band that stretches to 1.00.
