Description

Field-Tested is the working condition of the most expensive AWP finish in CS2. It covers 0.15 to 0.38, more than a third of this skin's scale, and copies differ inside it more than in any other wear. The rank is Covert. The AWP | Gungnir belongs to no case.

What the AWP | Gungnir looks like in Field-Tested

The rear half of the rifle is blue, the front half ivory, with the border crossing the receiver. A dark Norse knot lies over the blue; the ivory carries spiral carving and runes, with a pale blue collar at the muzzle. The scope is brass and bone, the grip and optic mounts glossy blue. Valve calls the combination pearlescent blue and ivory.

By this condition the light half has lost its white. The receiver top, handguard edge and butt plate take on a gray film, and the fine carving along the barrel breaks on the raised ribs. The blue half holds up better: the knot sits in recesses wear reaches last, so the braid stays whole. Near the bottom of the band the rifle still looks tidy; at the top the gray on the ivory is obvious at a glance.

Where the AWP | Gungnir came from

No Workshop entry stands behind the design: Valve drew it, and the finish catalog numbers it 756. The Norse set was handed out as mission rewards in Operation Shattered Web, which opened on November 19, 2019. The operation closed on March 31, 2020, and the reward sets stopped growing. Valve's farewell note counted over 136 million missions completed.

What to check before buying

Inspection decides more here than in any other condition:

  • the float inside 0.15 to 0.38, since the light half differs at the two ends;

  • whether the carving on the barrel is unbroken, since it gives way before the large knot;

  • Stickers left by a previous owner, and an applied name.

The band runs from 0.15 to 0.38, and inspection shows it. The artwork is the same across the run, with no pattern variants.

What the AWP | Gungnir costs in Field-Tested

The steps upward are large: Factory New asks about one and a half times more, Minimal Wear about a third more. Downward the difference nearly disappears, and Battle-Scarred gives up only a few percent despite the grayer ivory.

Among Covert AWPs in this condition nothing is dearer. The AWP | Dragon Lore follows about a tenth behind. Medusa is almost four times cheaper, The Prince five times, Oni Taiji by tens of times.

Getting the AWP | Gungnir

The Norse collection never had a drop of its own: its items came from the missions of an operation that has closed. Today the route is a finished listing. A trade-up inside the collection works on paper, but few assemble this rifle that way.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Gungnir

No StatTrak version of the AWP | Gungnir was ever released, and no Souvenir packages were made for this finish either: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand. The Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory. That is why the odd souvenir copy turns up where no package was ever made.

The handguard and magazine are open ground; the receiver side is usually left to the knot. The light half already carries gray here, so a bright sticker fights the background harder than on a clean copy. Cool colors fall in with the Norse palette more precisely than warm ones.

Who this wear suits

Buying the AWP | Gungnir here makes sense when:

  • the finish itself is the point for CS2, not a showcase body;

  • choosing by float appeals, because the ends of the band differ;

  • a few percent between this and Battle-Scarred is no obstacle.

Through a scope and on the move, this condition is indistinguishable from the clean ones, which cost tens of percent more. For play it is the wear where price and appearance meet.
