AWP | Hyper Beast (Minimal Wear)

The AWP | Hyper Beast in Minimal Wear (MW) has paint that is almost factory fresh at a noticeably lower price. Floats for this wear run from 0.07 up to 0.15. It is a Covert skin that belongs to the Falchion Collection and drops from its case.

What the AWP | Hyper Beast looks like in Minimal Wear

The rifle divides into two parts. At the front, the barrel, bipod, scope and nose of the receiver are dark gray-steel metal. At the back, the stock is all color: crimson and magenta streaks with veins of green, turquoise and orange. In the middle of the receiver, between the two, lies a gray-black shape with the outline of a muzzle. The scope ring is red.

In Minimal Wear the edges on the dark metal are touched first, and a light scuff shows there at once. The multicolor stock holds its look, because small marks nearly vanish in dense paint.

Where the AWP | Hyper Beast came from

The AWP | Hyper Beast was released on May 26, 2015, the same day as the Falchion Collection. Valve described that collection's case as sixteen community finishes and a new knife that cannot be found in other cases. The finish is number 475 in Valve's catalog.

The artwork is based on a piece by the artist Brock Hofer, as the submission states; it was posted to the Steam Workshop on January 14, 2015. According to the data, the finish's designer is frontaLOBE.

What to check before buying

When choosing an AWP | Hyper Beast, pay attention to this:

• float: at 0.07 the edges are clean, and at 0.15 they lighten more noticeably;


• any name tag and stickers: they come with the lot.

The artwork never varies, so pattern is not part of the choice. The 0.07 to 0.15 band is narrow, and the copies are almost indistinguishable. This wear takes 8% of the finish's float scale.

What the AWP | Hyper Beast costs in Minimal Wear

Measured from this wear, the others come out as follows:

Getting the AWP | Hyper Beast

The skin drops from the Falchion Case. Trading up works too, with ten skins from one step down. If all ten come from its collection, the odds of getting this skin are one in two. The other Covert skin of the set is the AK-47 | Aquamarine Revenge.

Covert skins can serve as inputs to a craft that ends in a knife. The collection has one knife model, the Falchion Knife, so only its finish and wear are left to chance.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the AWP | Hyper Beast has been released. No souvenir packages exist for this finish; they were made only for the tournament map collections. You can still build a souvenir copy yourself: the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from the inventory.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Hyper Beast

The swirls on the stock are bright, and stickers disappear there. The dark metal at the front is the only quiet field, but its edges may already be lightening in Minimal Wear. Light single-color stickers are better placed on the flat part of the receiver than on an edge.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear is a justified buy for the AWP | Hyper Beast when:

• you want a look close to factory without paying two and a half times more;


• the AWP is for CS2 matches and scuffs on the edges do not interfere;


• your CS2 loadout needs a Covert skin with a bright stock.

The 0.07 to 0.15 stretch is short, so there is almost nothing to compare inside the wear: look at the price and the stickers.
