Battle-Scarred (BS) on the AWP | PAW has a float band of 0.45 to 0.50. The skin's float stretches only to 0.50, so this is 10% of the finish's scale. It is a Restricted AWP from The Horizon Collection, from the Horizon Case.
What the AWP | PAW looks like in Battle-Scarred
The finish is a tight collage of cartoon animals: Valve's description lists cats, dogs and a creature in a red scarf. They overlap without gaps and cover the side of the receiver, the cheek piece, the butt and the grip. The colors are quiet: olive and sand, brick orange with dark red, and turquoise patches here and there.
The figures are small, so scuffs take them off a piece at a time. In Battle-Scarred the edges of the receiver sides, the cheek piece and the butt lose their recognizability first. In the middle of the flat side the collage stays readable longer. The wear value is set the moment the skin drops.
Where the AWP | PAW came from
The finish is by TheDanidem. On the Steam Workshop the work was called "AWP // PawPaw" and went up on January 6, 2018. He writes of his finish as "Anodized Multicolored" and notes that the cats' eyes, the glasses, the metal and the gold shine. He had been nursing the idea for a long time: to make CS:GO with cats and dogs, inspired by their "eternal conflict". In Valve's catalog the finish is number 718.
What to check before buying
What to verify when choosing an AWP | PAW:
- float: in this wear the pick comes from within 0.45 to 0.50;
- name tag and stickers: on this AWP they stay with the listing.
An AWP | PAW here can be bought almost blind: the band from 0.45 to 0.50 is tight.
What the AWP | PAW costs in Battle-Scarred
Factory New is dearer by more than a factor of three, and Minimal Wear by one and a half. Field-Tested and Well-Worn are a little cheaper.
Among Restricted AWPs in this wear, the skin is closer to the bottom edge: the AWP | Pit Viper alone costs less. The AWP | Exothermic costs only slightly more, the AWP | Atheris one and a half times as much, and the AWP | Exoskeleton almost twice as much.
Getting the AWP | PAW
The Horizon Collection opened in the game on August 1, 2018, and the skin has been in it from day one; it falls from the Horizon Case. The AWP | PAW can also be built by trade-up: ten Mil-Spec skins go into the contract, and the result comes from the collection of one of the inputs.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the AWP | PAW exists. Souvenir is not an option for this finish.
Stickers and craft on the AWP | PAW
The collage is busy, so a bright sticker gets lost in it. For an AWP in CS2, the muted palette goes best with warm, earthy stickers.
Who this wear suits
The AWP | PAW in this exact wear makes sense when:
- you want the menagerie on an AWP at the lowest price in the row of wears;
- wear does not matter, and a float band of 0.05 does not call for choosing by number;
- the artwork matters more than the state of the paint.
If you need the little faces to read across the whole side, look at Minimal Wear: it costs one and a half times more.
