The AWP | Wildfire in Field-Tested (FT) is the stretch of the wear scale between the clean grades and the battered ones, on the anniversary AWP from the CS20 Case. You can buy it at a float from 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Covert skin and drops from the CS20 Case, which was released on October 18, 2019.
What the AWP | Wildfire looks like in Field-Tested
The base is black and red, with the Operation Wildfire logo hand-lettered across it, flames and all. There is not much red on the rifle. It gathers around the logo and along the barrel, and deep black takes up the rest. In FT the wear runs along the barrel edge and the scope mount, and on black it lightens noticeably. The logo itself sits on the flat side panel and stays intact right up to the top of the band.
What to check before buying
Two things matter on a listing:
- the float, because on a black base every rubbed edge shows as a pale line;
- the stickers already on the copy, and any name tag.
The pattern index plays no part on this skin, and every copy is identical.
The band of 0.15 to 0.38 is wide. Near the top of it there is visibly more wear than near the bottom.
What the AWP | Wildfire costs in Field-Tested
Measured against this wear, the others price out like this:
- Factory New costs about three and a third times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs about half as much again;
- Well-Worn costs about a tenth more;
- Battle-Scarred costs about a fifth less.
The scale of this skin starts at 0.01, not at zero, so Factory New gets the band 0.01 to 0.07, four times shorter than FT's. Below FT the price barely falls, so there is little reason to step down.
Getting the AWP | Wildfire
The AWP | Wildfire comes out of the CS20 Case, which also defines its collection.
A trade-up is the other way in: ten Classified skins from the set make one Covert skin. The collection has two Covert skins, so the chance of landing on the AWP is one in two. The float you get depends on the floats you put in.
The knife side of this set is unusual. The CS20 Case holds a single rare special item, the ★ Classic Knife, the model that came back into the game together with the anniversary case.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the AWP | Wildfire
The AWP | Wildfire has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.
A black base with a red accent takes stickers well, though red stickers with logos fight the paint. White and gold read best, and foil stickers look expensive on black. On the AWP | Wildfire the stock and magazine are left open for a craft. The side panel with the logo is usually left alone, since covering it defeats the point of the finish.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested is the right buy for the AWP | Wildfire when:
- you want a black-and-red AWP for CS2 without paying three times over for a clean wear;
- an intact logo matters, and in FT it is untouched;
- the lower wears do not appeal, since the price gap there is under a fifth.
On a black body the light edges show at once, and by 0.38 there are plenty of them. If you want an even black, look at Minimal Wear.
