AWP | Wildfire (Well-Worn)

The AWP | Wildfire in Well-Worn (WW) is the next-to-last step on the scale of a finish that runs from 0.01 to 0.70. The float of this wear is 0.38 to 0.45. The rank is Covert, and the rifle belongs to the anniversary CS20 Collection.

What the AWP | Wildfire looks like in Well-Worn

The barrel, receiver and bipod are black with red trim: a red muzzle brake, red rings on the scope, red outlines on the receiver. On the thumbhole stock sits a yellow-orange logo of Operation Wildfire, which Valve describes as hand-painted work over a black-and-red base.

In Well-Worn the edges of the red trim and the edges of the stock grow lighter, and at the corners the black coating opens up gray metal. The logo on the stock stays readable. Wear is set at the drop and does not accumulate.

Where the AWP | Wildfire came from

The finish was made by VLEK. The work reached the Workshop on September 18, 2019, as "CS20 | AWP | WildFire", and in Valve's catalog it is number 917. The AWP | Wildfire was released in October 2019 alongside the anniversary CS20 Case.

What to check before buying

Choosing a particular AWP | Wildfire comes down to these points:

• float: at 0.38 the red trim is better preserved, and at 0.45 the light metal is more visible;


• the logo on the stock, which should read without worn edges;


• anything the last owner added, such as stickers or a new name.

A "rare" pattern does not exist for this rifle, since every copy has the same artwork. The 0.38 to 0.45 spread is small enough that choosing by float is pointless.

What the AWP | Wildfire costs in Well-Worn

The other wears, relative to WW:

• Factory New costs 2.5 times as much;


• Minimal Wear costs 1.4 times as much;


• Field-Tested is 1.2 times cheaper;


• Battle-Scarred is 1.2 times cheaper.

Among Covert AWPs in this wear, the AWP | Wildfire stands in the middle of the row. AWP | Queen's Gambit and AWP | Containment Breach come out level with it. Slightly cheaper are AWP | Printstream, AWP | Neo-Noir and AWP | LongDog.

Getting the AWP | Wildfire

The skin drops from the CS20 Case, and the finish has no other case.

A trade-up contract is the second road. Ten Classified skins go in, from any collections, and one of the inputs sets the collection of the result. With ten from CS20, the set holds two Covert skins, so the AWP comes out with one chance in two.

The Covert skin itself works as an input to a craft. Five Covert skins of one type give a rare special item with the ★ mark, drawn from the collections of the inputs. For CS20 that is the Classic Knife.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The AWP | Wildfire has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for the finish, since those were made only for tournament map collections. A Souvenir copy can be built yourself through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the AWP | Wildfire

The black barrel and receiver leave plenty of room, but the red trim distracts from small stickers. It is better to keep the stock free, so as not to cover the logo. Light and yellow stickers read more sharply on the black than red ones.

Who this wear suits

This wear of the AWP | Wildfire is a sensible buy if:

• you want a Covert AWP for CS2 that costs less than it does in Factory New and Minimal Wear;


• pale scuffs on black and red do not bother you;


• price drives the choice, because the 0.38 to 0.45 spread is small.
