Community Capsule 2018

The Community Capsule 2018 is a sticker capsule with stickers drawn by Steam Workshop authors. Inside is one random sticker out of fourteen entries, and no team or tournament stands behind it.

What's inside the capsule

The list holds eight regular designs: Bullet Rain, Camper, Dessert Eagle, Devouring Flame, Entry Fragger, Friendly Fire, Retake Expert and Small Arms. Some of them also exist in holographic form: Devouring Flame, Friendly Fire, Retake Expert and Small Arms. Two more entries in the list are not revealed, so they are not named here.

There are fourteen entries in all. Exactly one drops. Valve does not publish the odds between regular and holographic stickers, so there are no percentages here.

Where the Community Capsule 2018 came from

This is a general-release capsule: Valve gathered stickers drawn by members of the community. It is tied to no tournament and no team seeding, so there is no split into Legends, Challengers and Contenders.

From the Cologne 2026 Major, Valve canceled the major tournament capsules and replaced them with a store where stickers are bought with tokens. This capsule was released earlier, and it still trades.

Opening the capsule

No key is needed: the capsule alone is enough. That sets it apart from weapon cases in CS2.

The sticker you get goes on any firearm, and the weapon has five sticker slots. The player sets the position and rotation. Stickers cannot go on knives or gloves.

Wear is added by hand and cannot be removed: on the last step the sticker vanishes from the weapon. The capsule has no float and no wears. It has no StatTrak or Souvenir edition either, and it does not go into a trade-up contract.

What the Community Capsule 2018 costs

The capsule's issue is closed, and each opening takes one sealed copy out of circulation. For price, that works in favor of unopened capsules.

Looking at the contents, the holographic versions are the rare ones among the fourteen entries, and they are the ones that rate above the regular stickers. Whether one drops is down to chance, so opening stays a lottery, not a plan for profit.

For CS2 you can buy the capsule sealed, without opening it. The sticker that drops gives no advantage in the game: these are community designs, not team logos. The list is short, fourteen entries, so the contents are easy to learn in advance.
