The Desert Eagle | Code Red in Battle-Scarred (BS) has a float from 0.45 to 1.00, which takes up more than half of the skin's scale. It is a Covert pistol and drops from the Horizon Case. This is the most affordable of the five wears: Factory New costs more than four times as much.
What the Desert Eagle | Code Red looks like in Battle-Scarred
The design is built on a red slide. Bright red paint covers the top of the barrel and the slide, and a silver inlay with narrow black slots runs along the side. Valve describes the skin briefly as a red base with white details and closes the description with the call "Man your stations". The grip is black and the frame dark, and only the magazine base stays red.
Wear is deep in Battle-Scarred. The red paint on the smooth planes of the slide fades in patches and chips at the edges, and the scuffing is easy to see. The spread inside the band is large: two Battle-Scarred listings can differ more than neighboring wears do on other skins.
Where the Desert Eagle | Code Red came from
The Desert Eagle | Code Red entered the game on August 1, 2018. It was designed by the artist DasDas, and Valve's finish catalog lists it under number 711.
What to check before buying
Before buying the Desert Eagle | Code Red, check the following:
- the float: for the Desert Eagle | Code Red the number matters more than the label, and the stretch from 0.45 to 1.00 holds very different looks;
- stickers and a name tag, which stay on the listing along with the weapon;
- the red planes of the slide, where the listing photo shows how much paint has been chipped away.
The Desert Eagle | Code Red has no pattern variance: what you see on one listing is what the rest carry.
What the Desert Eagle | Code Red costs in Battle-Scarred
Measured against this wear:
- Factory New costs 4.25 times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs 1.27 times as much;
- Field-Tested and Well-Worn cost the same.
The three lower wears do not differ much in price, and Battle-Scarred offers no saving over Well-Worn. Three Covert Desert Eagles have a price in this wear, and Code Red is second from the bottom of that row. Only Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive stands above it, at about one and a half times the price. Below it is Desert Eagle | Printstream, a fifth cheaper.
Getting the Desert Eagle | Code Red
The skin drops from the Horizon Case. Ten skins one step below it from the same set can be traded up into the Desert Eagle | Code Red. The collection has two Covert skins, so the result is one of two.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The Desert Eagle | Code Red has a StatTrak version. No souvenir packages were released for this finish, but a Souvenir copy can be built through the Souvenir-O-Matic. It puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a regular skin from your inventory.
Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Code Red
The slide is red, and red or orange stickers vanish on it. White and light blue ones read against the red, and light stickers show well on the black grip. The silver inlay carries the factory engraving Magnum Research Inc., and there is no reason to cover it.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is a sensible buy for the Desert Eagle | Code Red when at least one of these holds:
- you want a red pistol for CS2 at the lowest price of the five wears;
- worn paint does not matter, and the red slide and silver inlay stay recognizable;
- you will choose the listing by its float number, not by the wear label.
