Description

The Desert Eagle | Night in Field-Tested (FT) is a solid dark-gray pistol in a military night palette, with the paint already rubbed away along the edges. Floats in this wear run between 0.15 and 0.38. The pistol is Industrial Grade and sits in the Chop Shop Collection.

What the Desert Eagle | Night looks like in Field-Tested

Each part is painted in its own solid color, with no artwork and no lettering. The slide and frame are dark gray, the grip panel is almost black, and the small parts by the hammer have a cold greenish-gray cast.

In Field-Tested pale metal shows along the edges of the slide and frame. On the dark paint these patches are visible at once. Wear is fixed at the drop and does not grow on an individual copy.

Where the Desert Eagle | Night came from

The Desert Eagle | Night appeared on May 26, 2015, when the Chop Shop Collection was added to the game. Valve's note from that day names the collection among the exclusive weapon sets of Operation Bloodhound, from which rewards dropped to pass holders.

What to check before buying

Before buying the Desert Eagle | Night, a few points are worth checking:

  • float: the band is long, 0.15 to 0.38, and the wear at its edges is noticeably different;

  • the edges of the slide, the trigger guard and the frame at the barrel;

  • stickers and a name tag already fitted to that copy.

The pattern index changes nothing on this pistol. The 0.15 to 0.38 stretch is long, and the extreme copies differ noticeably.

What the Desert Eagle | Night costs in Field-Tested

The other wears measured against this one:

  • Factory New is around eight times pricier;

  • Minimal Wear costs about twice as much;

  • Well-Worn costs the same, with a difference under three percent;

  • Battle-Scarred is level as well.

A flat stretch starts here: the three lower wears cost the same. So Field-Tested carries the same price tag as Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred but with a lower float, which means less wear.

Of the six Industrial Grade Desert Eagles in Field-Tested, this one ranks second on price. Only Desert Eagle | Midnight Storm sits above it, a few percent dearer. The other four are cheaper by many times.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Night

No CS2 case contains the Desert Eagle | Night.

It is built by a contract of ten skins from one rank lower. The Chop Shop Collection has three Industrial Grade skins, and with a ten from it the chance of getting this pistol is one in three.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the Desert Eagle | Night was never released. Souvenir copies exist, but there were no packages for this finish, since those were made only for tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory.

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Night

The gray and black background is neutral, and stickers of any color sit on it without a clash. Bright stickers look cleanest on dark paint.

Who this wear suits

Buying the Desert Eagle | Night in Field-Tested makes sense under these conditions:

  • you need a solid dark Desert Eagle for a CS2 set, with no artwork and no shine;

  • you want less wear at the same price as Well-Worn;

  • there is no reason to pay eight times more for Factory New.

If you would rather have clean dark paint without pale patches on the edges, look at Minimal Wear.
