Description

The Desert Eagle | Printstream in Well-Worn (WW) has a white slide that is already scuffed, though its graphics still read. This wear takes the float band 0.38 to 0.45, which is 9% of the skin's scale. It is a Covert skin, and the pistol drops from the Fracture Case in CS2.

What the Desert Eagle | Printstream looks like in Well-Worn

The slide is white, and the frame and grip are almost black. Between them there is not one spot of color, apart from the pink and light-blue holographic strips by the slide window and on the grip. Scattered over the white are "XX", a small heart, diamonds, a barcode and dashed lines, and the back of the grip carries a scale with tick marks.

At Well-Worn the slide edges and front face have yellowed and picked up gray, and the fine linework tears sooner than the paint itself is gone. The "XX" in the middle of the slide holds up. The dark frame stays almost as it is in the cleaner wears. Wear is recorded when the skin drops and does not change with time.

Where the Desert Eagle | Printstream came from

JTPNZ published the Desert Eagle submission on the Steam Workshop on June 3, 2020. It was a learning job: he made the normal maps and the pearl effect for the first time, following online tutorials, and described himself as an art student. The skin came out in August 2020 with the Fracture Collection, and its number in Valve's catalog is 962.

What to check before buying

Three things matter in a listing:

  • the float inside 0.38 to 0.45, a short stretch in which listings differ little;

  • the slide edge and front face, where the yellowing is strongest;

  • the name tag and stickers that come along with the listing.

The pattern index changes nothing on the Desert Eagle | Printstream. In this wear the band is narrow, 0.38 to 0.45, and copies barely differ from each other.

What the Desert Eagle | Printstream costs in Well-Worn

Against Well-Worn, the other wears stand like this:

  • Factory New costs almost twice as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs about a fifth more;

  • Field-Tested is about a ninth cheaper;

  • Battle-Scarred is about a seventh cheaper.

Three Covert Desert Eagle finishes exist in this wear, and the Printstream is the cheapest of them. Desert Eagle | Code Red costs only a little more, and Desert Eagle | Ocean Drive one and a half times as much or more. Desert Eagle | Golden Koi is not found in this wear, because its float scale ends at 0.12.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Printstream

The Desert Eagle has a single source, the Fracture Case. A trade-up for the Printstream is built from ten skins of the rank below; if all ten come from the Fracture Collection, it has two Covert skins to land on.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the Desert Eagle | Printstream is available. Souvenir packages for this finish were never issued, because they existed only for tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be put together by hand. The Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to an ordinary skin from the inventory. So a lone souvenir copy now and then appears where no package ever existed.

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Printstream

A colored sticker reads at once on the black-and-white base. Light gray ones get lost: on the white they sink into the lines, and on the dark they cannot be seen. The "XX" is best left open, with the sticker placed on the dark part of the frame.

Who this wear suits

Well-Worn is the right buy for the Desert Eagle | Printstream if at least one of these holds:

  • the recognizable graphics matter, with an intact mark in the middle of the slide, and yellow edges do not bother you;

  • the pistol is for a CS2 build with stickers;

  • you want a Covert Desert Eagle priced between Minimal Wear and Field-Tested.

For a white field without yellowing, look at Minimal Wear, which costs about a fifth more.
