Description

The Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike in Field-Tested (FT) is the working middle of the scale: the scales on the flat surfaces are intact while the edges are already lightening. Wear in this grade spans 0.15 to 0.38. It is a Restricted rank skin that drops from the Fever Case, and no other case holds this finish.

What the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike looks like in Field-Tested

The slide and the top of the frame are covered in russet and orange scales with dark red and burgundy patches. Bright orange inserts sit at the muzzle and on the trigger. The grip panels are dark gray, with a coiled snake raised in relief in dark red. The magazine and the rail under the slide are left unpainted.

The scales can be told apart one by one: they are larger at the slide and shrink toward the frame. In FT the slide edge and the corners of the frame lighten, with the orange scales wearing through to gray metal there. The dark pattern on the grip gives way later, so the snake reads even at the top of the band.

Where the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike came from

The finish is by an artist who goes by nikto. The Fever Collection opened in the game on March 31, 2025, and the finish itself carries the same release date. The finish is number 1189 in Valve's catalog. In the notes for that update, Valve described the Fever Case in a single line.

What to check before buying

Before paying for a Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike, look at:

  • the float: near the bottom of the band the scales on the slide edge are still solid;

  • the corners of the frame, where the orange layer goes sooner than on the flat surfaces;

  • the name tag and any stickers, which stay on the listing.

The artwork is fixed and does not vary from copy to copy. In this grade the band of 0.15 to 0.38 holds both nearly clean bodies and visibly scuffed ones.

What the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike costs in Field-Tested

Against the neighboring grades the price runs like this:

  • Factory New is dearer by roughly three times;

  • Minimal Wear is dearer by roughly half as much again;

  • Well-Worn is dearer by roughly a tenth;

  • Battle-Scarred costs the same as FT.

The difference within the trio of Field-Tested, Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred is counted in cents. There is no pattern in their order: the two or three cheapest listings set that gap. The finish has one notable break, since Factory New asks three times more because the scales there are solid.

Among Restricted Desert Eagles this finish is the cheapest of fourteen in this grade. Closest is Desert Eagle | Trigger Discipline, followed by Desert Eagle | Firebreathing and Desert Eagle | Light Rail. At the other end of the rank stand Desert Eagle | Emerald Jörmungandr and Desert Eagle | Sunset Storm 弐, hundreds of times dearer.

Getting the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike

The first route is the Fever Case.

The second route is a trade-up. For a Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike the contract asks for ten skins one rank down. If all ten come from this collection, it has five Restricted items, so the odds of landing the pistol are one in five.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike

The Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike has a StatTrak version. Souvenir copies of the finish turn up as well, though no Souvenir packages were ever made for it: packages only ever covered tournament map collections. Those copies are built with the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on a normal skin from the inventory.

There is no free field on the slide: the scales run its whole length, including the bevel at the muzzle. What remains for stickers is the dark gray magazine and the underside of the frame, where there is no paint at all. The russet ground mutes warm stickers: a blue or white logo shows better than a red one. On rubbed edges part of a sticker is lost along with the paint.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested on the Desert Eagle | Serpent Strike makes sense when:

  • you want a bright Desert Eagle for CS2 without paying extra for clean edges;

  • you are ready to page through listings and take a float closer to 0.15;

  • the pistol goes into matches, not a CS2 display case.

If solid scales on the slide matter, look at Minimal Wear or Factory New. Otherwise FT gives you the same finish for a fraction of what a clean copy costs.
