Description

Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer in Field-Tested (FT): on pearlescent paint this wear shows at once, and so it costs less than the other four. The float band is 0.15 to 0.38. It is Mil-Spec rank; the pistol came to CS2 with The Dead Hand Collection and comes out of the terminal. The Dead Hand Collection was released on March 11, 2026.

What the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer looks like in Field-Tested

Despite the name, there is nothing dark in the finish: the slide and frame are pink-lilac, with a pearlescent sheen and light blue highlights. The grip is darker than the body, purple-pink, and the barrel and sights are dark. The pearl lies as a single layer, with no pattern and no borders, and the shimmer changes along the slide from pink to bluish. There are no shapes and no contrast at all, and only the factory markings read on the slide. Valve describes the intent differently — as a transparent purple polymer.

The light pearl on the slide edge and the grip corners grays first, and in this wear it is already touched. At the lower end of the band the highlights still shimmer along the whole length; closer to 0.38 the top of the slide loses its sheen and turns matte gray. The dark grip holds up longer than the light parts.

Where the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer came from

The artwork came from the Steam Workshop, and its author publishes under the handle Strenson. In Valve's catalog it is number 1429. In the update note Valve described Dead Hand as a set of seventeen community works, in which twenty-two new pairs of gloves serve as the rare items.

What to check before buying

Before buying the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer, a few points are worth checking:

  • float within 0.15 to 0.38: it decides whether the shimmer survived on top of the slide;

  • the grip corners — the pearl grays there sooner than on the frame;

  • an applied name tag and stickers, if they are already on this Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer.

There is no point hunting for the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer by pattern index: the pattern does not change. In this wear the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer has a long 0.15 to 0.38 band, so comparing several lots is worthwhile.

What the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer costs in Field-Tested

Against the other wears it works out like this:

  • Factory New costs roughly five and a half times as much;

  • Minimal Wear costs about three quarters more;

  • Well-Worn is about a fifth cheaper;

  • Battle-Scarred costs about twice as much.

The order here is mixed up: the most worn wear is priced above the middle one, while Well-Worn comes out cheapest of all.

Among Mil-Spec Five-SeveNs, nothing costs less than this finish in Field-Tested: only Five-SeveN | Silver Quartz costs the same. Five-SeveN | Scrawl and Five-SeveN | Flame Test cost about one and a half times more. The top of the rank, Five-SeveN | Crimson Blossom, costs hundreds of times more.

Getting the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer

The finish has a single source: the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal.

The Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer cannot be obtained by trade-up: there is nothing below Mil-Spec in this collection, and a contract gives one step up. In other people's contracts the finish works as an input — Desert Eagle | Firebreathing, M4A1-S | Electrum and other items rise out of the collection.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer

The Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were issued for this finish: they were made only for tournament map collections. But you can build a Souvenir copy yourself — Souvenir-O-Matic puts golden tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from the inventory. That is why single Souvenir copies occasionally turn up even where packages never existed.

The field for stickers here is even, but light and glossy: dark logos look harsh on the pearl, while pastel ones dissolve in the shimmer. Small contrasting stickers on the slide, where there is little lettering, hold their shape best. On grayed edges part of a craft comes off together with the paint, and in this wear such edges are already there.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested on the Five-SeveN | Dark Polymer makes sense when:

  • you want pink pearl in CS2 at the price of the cheapest finish in the rank;

  • the pistol goes into combat, where a worn slide can't be made out anyway;

  • you are ready to compare lots: within the band the shimmer survives differently.

A full shimmer along the whole slide is not guaranteed in this wear. You pay extra for it in Minimal Wear and Factory New.
