Description

The Glock-18 | Water Elemental in Minimal Wear (MW) has paint that is still nearly factory, at a price more than twice lower. The float stretch here is 0.07 to 0.15. The rank is Classified, and the skin belongs to the Operation Breakout Weapon Case.

What the Glock-18 | Water Elemental looks like in Minimal Wear

The finish reads as two zones, red and turquoise. The red one is the raspberry base with burgundy swirls and white flecks on the slide, frame and grip. The turquoise one is the splash of water with white highlights on the side of the slide, from which drops run down the grip. The dark gray barrel and trigger stay unpainted, and there is a red ring at the muzzle.

In Minimal Wear the wear lands first on the fine spray on the grip, where the hand lies. Next come the slide edges, where the splash is cut off. The large turquoise patch on the side is still whole. The 0.07 to 0.15 stretch makes up 11% of the finish's scale.

Where the Glock-18 | Water Elemental came from

The submission for this finish was called "Glock-18 | Liquescent". It was published in the Steam Workshop by user Cursed Badlucker, though the data records FLaMmenWerFeR as the author. The submission says it is a Glock with a water element and a spirit splashed across a red galaxy.

The Breakout Collection opened in the game in July 2014, and the skin was in it from day one. Its catalog number at Valve is 353.

What to check before buying

Here is what varies from one listing to another:

  • float: at 0.07 the spray on the grip is nearly whole, at 0.15 it is noticeably rubbed;

  • stickers and a name tag already on the copy in front of you.

The Glock-18 | Water Elemental has no pattern variants, so there is nothing to select on. This wear is a tight band, 0.07 to 0.15, where a difference between listings is hard to catch.

What the Glock-18 | Water Elemental costs in Minimal Wear

Ratios against the other wears:

  • Factory New is about 2.4 times dearer;

  • Field-Tested is cheaper by about 3%;

  • Well-Worn is dearer by about 6%;

  • Battle-Scarred is cheaper by about 7%.

The three lower wears sit almost level with this one, with differences of only a few percent. A noticeable gap appears only at the step up to factory paint.

Among Classified Glocks, Minimal Wear is third from the top. Glock-18 | Snack Attack is dearer by about one and a half times, Glock-18 | Twilight Galaxy by about ten times. Glock-18 | Mirror Mosaic, Glock-18 | Shinobu and Glock-18 | Vogue cost two to four times less.

Getting the Glock-18 | Water Elemental

The pistol comes out of the Operation Breakout Weapon Case. A contract for it consists of ten skins of the rank below, for example Nova | Koi or P250 | Supernova.

The set has three Classified skins, so the contract's odds are one in three. Ten such skins produce M4A1-S | Cyrex or P90 | Asiimov.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the Glock-18 | Water Elemental does exist. There were no Souvenir packages for this finish, only for tournament map collections. Still, a Souvenir copy can be assembled on your own: the Souvenir-O-Matic fits gold tournament stickers and a player autograph onto an ordinary skin from the inventory.

Stickers and craft on the Glock-18 | Water Elemental

The turquoise splash in the middle of the slide takes the most prominent place, and there is no point putting stickers over it. The lower part of the frame and the edge of the grip are freer, but the grip already shows wear. Cool blue and silver stickers continue the water, and warm ones get lost on the red.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear is worth buying if:

  • you want near-factory paint without a twofold premium;

  • the pistol is for CS2 play or an inventory, and a scuff on the grip is no obstacle;

  • a nearly untouched edge on the splash matters for a skin with a bright red base.

The three wears below cost practically the same, but on a red base their scuffs show more.
