Description

M249 | Bock Blocks in Field-Tested (FT) sits mid-scale: the paint is already scuffed, but the geometric pattern is all still there. In this wear its floats run from 0.15 to 0.38. The skin is Mil-Spec rank and belongs to The Dead Hand Collection. Anyone looking for a CS2 M249 in this finish can buy it in all five wears, from Factory New to Battle-Scarred.

What the M249 | Bock Blocks looks like in Field-Tested

The finish is built from plain shapes on a pink-lilac background: circles, arcs and triangles in black and dark purple. The belt box is laid out like a chessboard, with a large target on its end. The barrel stays black, while the lilac paint runs across the receiver in panels.

This is the middle of the scale. Wear is visible, but the shapes still read whole. The 0.15 to 0.38 band is a long one on the M249 | Bock Blocks, and copies at its two ends look clearly different. The skin's float scale runs from 0.00 to 1.00, so the band takes up 23%, less than a quarter.

Where the M249 | Bock Blocks came from

Valve released The Dead Hand Collection on March 11, 2026: seventeen finishes by Workshop authors and twenty-two new pairs of gloves. The M249 | Bock Blocks was in the set from day one.

What to check before buying

Three things set one M249 | Bock Blocks listing apart from another:

  • float: within the band, the two ends of the range look different;

  • scuffs on the edges of the shapes and on the belt box;

  • the name tag and stickers already applied, which stay with the listing.

There are no two different patterns on the M249 | Bock Blocks, so listings differ only in wear and in what has been applied to them.

What the M249 | Bock Blocks costs in Field-Tested

The other wears set against this one:

  • Factory New costs about five times more;

  • Minimal Wear costs roughly half as much again;

  • Well-Worn costs about a fifth more;

  • Battle-Scarred costs more than a third more.

Field-Tested is the cheapest of the finish's five wears. Price does not follow wear here: Battle-Scarred costs more even though it looks worse.

Among Mil-Spec M249s in this wear, the finish is the cheapest. Just above it come the M249 | O.S.I.P.R. and the M249 | Hypnosis, and the most expensive in the rank is the M249 | Humidor.

Getting the M249 | Bock Blocks

The M249 | Bock Blocks drops from the Sealed Dead Hand Terminal. A trade-up contract cannot produce it, because Mil-Spec is the lowest rank in the collection.

The skin does work as an input, though: ten Mil-Spec skins from the set give one Restricted, for example the MP7 | Amberline or the Desert Eagle | Firebreathing.

StatTrak and Souvenir

Stickers and craft on the M249 | Bock Blocks

The M249 | Bock Blocks has a StatTrak version. No Souvenir packages were ever released for this finish, since those were made only for the tournament map collections. A souvenir copy can still be built by hand: the Souvenir-O-Matic puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory. That is why single souvenir copies turn up now and then even where no packages ever existed.

The pattern is dense. Shapes fill almost the whole body, so a sticker reads best where the background is calmer, on the flat lilac areas between them. White and silver stickers show clearly against the lilac, while red and orange ones merge into the pink shapes.

Who this wear suits

Buying the M249 | Bock Blocks specifically in Field-Tested makes sense when:

  • you want a bright machine gun for a lilac or pink loadout;

  • price matters more than clean paint, since this is the cheapest wear of the finish;

  • the gun is headed for CS2 matches, where the finish is seen from a distance and not up close.

If the paint has to be untouched, look at Factory New: the price gap there is fivefold.
