M249 | Downtown (Field-Tested)

The M249 | Downtown in Field-Tested (FT) is a machine gun with neon graffiti, made for CS2. It is Restricted, belongs to The Recoil Collection and drops from the Recoil Case. The float in this wear lies between 0.15 and 0.38.

What the M249 | Downtown looks like in Field-Tested

Angular letters and arrows in light blue and violet, outlined in bright crimson, run across the receiver. The background is dark blue and violet, the shapes are light blue and cornflower, and white highlight strokes lie along the edges. The letters are linked and slanted, wildstyle fashion, and cannot be read. Lightning bolts and small arrows show between them.

The artwork is densest on the receiver and side cover, then continues onto the barrel and bipod, and the box magazine is painted the same way. The stock is gray-olive, as on an ordinary machine gun, and part of the feed mechanism with the handle stays dark. Wear is fixed at drop, and in Field-Tested the scuffs are more visible on the edges than on the flat fields of the design.

Where the M249 | Downtown came from

Valve writes that the machine gun is covered in light blue and pink arrows pointing in every direction. The Recoil Case, with 17 finishes from community authors, came out on July 4, 2022, and the skin arrived with the same update.

What to check before buying

For the M249 | Downtown it is worth checking the following:

• float: from 0.15 to 0.38 the scuffing grows visibly, and copies near 0.15 are cleaner;

• what the previous owner left on the M249 | Downtown: stickers and a name tag;

• the version: the skin has a StatTrak edition, which is a separate listing.

The M249 | Downtown has no pattern variants, so there is nothing to choose by there.

What the M249 | Downtown costs in Field-Tested

Factory New costs more than three times as much, and Minimal Wear and Well-Worn cost one and a half times as much. Battle-Scarred sits level.

Among the four Restricted M249 skins, Downtown is the cheapest in this wear. M249 | Aztec is only a third higher, while M249 | Nebula Crusader and M249 | Emerald Poison Dart are three times higher.

Getting the M249 | Downtown

The skin drops from the Recoil Case. A trade-up for the M249 | Downtown takes ten skins one tier below, from this set.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The skin has a StatTrak version and no Souvenir packages.

Stickers and craft on the M249 | Downtown

The graffiti is dense, so small stickers get lost on the receiver. The stock and handle have more room, where there is no paint: a sticker reads there as crisply as on a gray-olive plastic part.

Who this wear suits

Buying the M249 | Downtown here makes sense in these cases:

• you want a machine gun with bright neon painting and no premium for the top wears;

• the 0.15 to 0.38 band and a price level with Battle-Scarred suit you;

• in CS2 you need a base for stickers on the stock.
