The M4A1-S | Basilisk in Well-Worn (WW) has a float of 0.38 to 0.45, which is 10% of the scale. The rank is Restricted, the collection The Vanguard Collection. This M4 with an engraved snake is monochrome in CS2, and in this wear it costs more than any other Restricted M4A1-S.
What the M4A1-S | Basilisk looks like in Well-Worn
The whole body is dark gunmetal gray with a cold bluish cast, and the artwork has no color: the engraving and outlines are only a shade lighter. A thin snake line runs along the side of the receiver and drops in three lines onto the magazine. Beside it is small engraving that resembles lettering, and by the suppressor are rows of pitted notches. Valve is brief: an engraving with a basilisk.
The artwork is made of thin pale lines, so in Well-Worn scuffs show first on the receiver edges, the magazine ribs and the rim of the handguard. Contrast is low, which means heavy wear makes the finish look like a stock rifle, and the artwork can be told apart only up close.
Where the M4A1-S | Basilisk came from
The Steam Workshop listing, titled "M4A1-S | Basilisk", went up on October 20, 2014, under the name BRZF. In the description the author lists parts in engraved and blued steel: the upper and lower receiver, the outer barrel, the carry handle and the front sight. By his account it is a basilisk in a "dark ages" style: a four-eyed king of snakes with two limbs, a petrifying gaze and venomous breath. Valve's catalog lists the finish as number 383. The Vanguard Collection with this skin came out in November 2014, together with Operation Vanguard.
What to check before buying
Choosing a particular M4A1-S | Basilisk comes down to these points:
- float: the 0.38 to 0.45 spread is so small that choosing by it is pointless;
- the stickers and name tag this copy already carries;
- how well the thin snake lines read on the receiver.
What the M4A1-S | Basilisk costs in Well-Worn
Factory New costs two and a half times as much, and Minimal Wear 9 percent more. Field-Tested is cheaper by 1.18 times, and Battle-Scarred by 1.23.
Among the eight Restricted M4A1-S skins in this wear, the Basilisk is the dearest. Flashback is three times cheaper, Glitched Paint five, Liquidation almost seven, Electrum twelve and Night Terror fifteen.
Getting the M4A1-S | Basilisk
Its case is the Operation Vanguard Weapon Case. A trade-up contract works too: ten Mil-Spec skins, from anywhere, with the result coming from the collection of one of the inputs. Ten from Vanguard leave no doubt about which set the result comes from.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The Basilisk comes in StatTrak. Souvenir packages do not exist for it.
Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Basilisk
On the dark gray body, stickers read at once in CS2. Bright ones are best kept away from the engraving, since they will drown out the thin lines of the snake.
Who this wear suits
A Well-Worn M4A1-S | Basilisk makes sense if:
- you want a monochrome M4 with no color;
- the basilisk engraving matters more to you than flawless paint;
- you need the StatTrak version for a build.
