M4A1-S | Mud-Spec (Field-Tested)

Field-Tested (FT) is the longest wear of the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec after Battle-Scarred: its float takes up 0.15 to 0.38, almost a third of the scale. The swamp-camo M4A1-S is Industrial Grade and belongs to The Anubis Collection. The skin has no ordinary case: copies came out of the Anubis Collection Package and from tournament souvenir packages.

What the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec looks like in Field-Tested

This is a dark glossy camouflage of blurred blotches. The background is olive-brown, and the blotches are lighter: sandy gold, with soft edges. The barrel and grip are black.

The blotches run across the suppressor, handguard, receiver and stock and follow the shape of each part. There are no designs or lettering, and the whole effect rests on the swamp palette. In FT, light scuffs gather on the suppressor and the receiver edges, and on the dark background they read first. Wear is set when the item drops, so no new scuffs appear on the suppressor over time.

Where the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec came from

The M4A1-S | Mud-Spec was released on April 25, 2023. In the update notes Valve introduced The Anubis Collection of 19 weapon skins, styled after the new map in the Active Duty pool. We have no data on who authored the finish.

What to check before buying

When choosing an M4A1-S | Mud-Spec, look at the following:

• float: the band of 0.15 to 0.38 leaves room to choose, and copies closer to 0.15 are cleaner;

• name tag and stickers: on the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec they stay on the listing.

There is no lucky pattern to hunt for on the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec: it is always the same.

What the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec costs in Field-Tested

FT is the cheapest wear of the skin. Factory New (FN) costs 6.42 times as much, Minimal Wear (MW) 2.08 times, and Well-Worn (WW) and Battle-Scarred (BS) 1.52 times. The FT band takes 32 percent of the skin's scale, so the premium for the cleaner wears is understandable.

Only four Industrial Grade M4A1-S skins have a price in this wear, and the Mud-Spec is the cheapest of them. The M4A1-S | Boreal Forest costs four percent more, the M4A1-S | Wash me plz eight percent. The M4A1-S | Moss Quartz sits in another class: more than sixty times as much.

Getting the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec

The skin belongs to The Anubis Collection and drops from the Anubis Collection Package, as well as from tournament souvenir packages for this collection. A trade-up for the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec takes ten skins one rank lower, all from the same collection.

StatTrak and Souvenir

There is no StatTrak version of the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec, but a Souvenir version exists.

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec

A camouflage of blotches with no sharp lines gives an even dark background, and stickers on it do not fight the pattern. Light stickers read better than dark ones. The golden blotches of the finish pick up stickers in yellow and sand tones.

Who this wear suits

Buying the M4A1-S | Mud-Spec in Field-Tested makes sense in these cases:

• you choose by float: the span of 0.15 to 0.38 is long, and listings from its ends look different;

• you are collecting The Anubis Collection in full, and FT is the cheapest way to add this skin.
