Description

For the M4A1-S | Stratosphere, Battle-Scarred (BS) runs from 0.45 to 0.80: the finish breaks off at a float of 0.80 and never reaches 1.00. The skin ranks Classified, belongs to The Ascent Collection and plays on the counter-terrorist side.

What the M4A1-S | Stratosphere looks like in Battle-Scarred

The base is dark and blue-violet with a mottled texture, sown with tiny orange-yellow dots that read as stars or sparks. A wide, sweeping pale-blue stroke with golden rays crosses over it, passing through the receiver and the grip, and the rays trail back along the receiver and the barrel. A five-pointed star shows on the receiver and a second one on the suppressor.

Float is set at drop and never changes. The thin golden rays and the sharp tips of the star are narrow lines. In Battle-Scarred they go first, especially on the round barrel and along the receiver edges. The band of 0.45 to 0.80 leaves room to choose: a copy closer to 0.45 is the cleaner one.

Where the M4A1-S | Stratosphere came from

No Workshop submission stands behind this skin, which Valve made on its own. The collection arrived on March 31, 2025, and the M4A1-S | Stratosphere came in the same update. Valve's note says Ascent, Boreal and Radiant were put on the Weekly Care Package list. In Valve's catalog the finish is number 1216.

What to check before buying

From listing to listing, three things change:

  • float: near 0.45 the golden rays and the star still read, while near 0.80 they are clearly worn away;

  • the receiver edges and the barrel, where the rays vanish earliest;

  • stickers left by a previous owner, and a name tag.

No lucky pattern can be pulled on this skin; the artwork never varies.

What the M4A1-S | Stratosphere costs in Battle-Scarred

Battle-Scarred is the skin's lowest price point. Field-Tested costs about a third more, Well-Worn about 1.7 times as much, Minimal Wear almost four times, and Factory New more than eleven times.

Only Solitude sits below it among Classified M4A1-S skins in this wear. Black Lotus and Control Panel cost about one and a half times as much, Party Animal and Nightmare two and a half times. The top of the row belongs to Atomic Alloy, Guardian and Master Piece.

Getting the M4A1-S | Stratosphere

You will not find it in any case. The Ascent Collection is on the Weekly Care Package list, so the skin is handed out as a drop for time played. The other route is a trade-up contract. It takes ten skins of the rank below, from anywhere, and the item that comes out belongs to the collection of one of them. Taking all ten from The Ascent Collection steers the result to that collection, where there is a single Classified skin, so that is the one that comes out.

StatTrak and Souvenir

There is no StatTrak version of the M4A1-S | Stratosphere. Souvenir packages never carried this finish.

Stickers and craft on the M4A1-S | Stratosphere

The dark flecked field hides wear and holds light stickers well. The pale-blue stroke and the golden rays on the receiver are best left uncovered, so stickers go on the dark areas. The artwork is the same on every copy, which means a CS2 craft is built around the color of the stickers.

Who this wear suits

Battle-Scarred is worth taking for the M4A1-S | Stratosphere if:

  • you want a Classified rifle at almost the lowest price in its row;

  • the dark starry background and the blue stroke matter more than crisp rays;

  • you are buying the skin as a dark field for stickers in CS2.
