M4A4 | Magnesium (Minimal Wear)

The M4A4 | Magnesium in Minimal Wear (MW) is a gray Mil-Spec rifle from The Danger Zone Collection. This wear runs from 0.07 to 0.15 on the float scale, and the skin drops from the Danger Zone Case.

What the M4A4 | Magnesium looks like in Minimal Wear

It is a nearly monochrome gray rifle with no pattern, so the whole difference rests on the texture of the metal. The receiver and stock are dark gray, the handguard is lighter and more matte, and the magazine is gray-beige. Thin reddish-pink stripes appear only along the lower edge of the handguard and at the base of the stock.

The color is spread evenly across the rifle. The one accent is the diamond-shaped checkering on the handguard, together with red threads along the edges. Up close you can see small technical markings on the receiver and a red dot beside the fire selector.

In Minimal Wear the gray layer on the edges of the handguard and receiver is a touch lighter, as if rubbed, but there are no chips. Wear is set when the skin drops. A copy with a float closer to 0.15 shows the rubbing more.

Where the M4A4 | Magnesium came from

The skin arrived on December 7, 2018, when The Danger Zone Collection and the Danger Zone Case were added to the game. The case holds seventeen finishes by community authors.

What to check before buying

Across listings of the M4A4 | Magnesium, there are two things to tell apart:

• float: across 0.07 to 0.15 the gray body is the same on every copy, so there is nothing to choose between;

• what a previous owner left on the M4A4 | Magnesium, meaning stickers and an applied name tag.

Copies of the M4A4 | Magnesium differ only in wear, because they share one pattern.

What the M4A4 | Magnesium costs in Minimal Wear

The spread between wears on this skin is unusual:

• Factory New costs almost four times more;

• Field-Tested is 2.8 times cheaper;

• Well-Worn is 4.1 times cheaper;

• Battle-Scarred is 1.9 times cheaper.

Of the nine Mil-Spec M4A4 skins, the Magnesium in Minimal Wear sits mid-row: five cost less and three cost more. The M4A4 | Dark Operative is almost level. The M4A4 | Converter is a third cheaper, while the M4A4 | Zubastick and M4A4 | Poly Mag are well below. Above it stand the M4A4 | Global Offensive, M4A4 | Faded Zebra and M4A4 | Radiation Hazard.

Getting the M4A4 | Magnesium

It comes out of the Danger Zone Case. A trade-up will not produce it: it is the lowest rank of the collection, and nothing sits below it.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The M4A4 | Magnesium comes with StatTrak. There are no ready-made Souvenir packages, but you can build a Souvenir copy through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Magnesium

A gray rifle with no pattern is a clean canvas for stickers in CS2: any color reads on it at once. The lighter handguard holds dark and colored stickers well, while light ones win on the dark receiver. The diamond checkering on the handguard sits beside the edge of a sticker and stays in view.

Who this wear suits

Minimal Wear is worth buying on the M4A4 | Magnesium if:

• you want a restrained gray rifle for CS2 with no pattern and no bright spots;

• you want a rifle for stickers: an even background and a narrow float band of 0.07 to 0.15;

• you want something cleaner than Field-Tested, but Factory New costs noticeably more.
