On the M4A4 | Poseidon, Field-Tested (FT) covers the float band 0.15 to 0.33. That is the edge of the scale: the finish's float stops at 0.33, and the skin has no more worn wear below FT. It comes in three: Factory New, Minimal Wear and this one. The skin is Classified and comes from The Gods and Monsters Collection.
What the M4A4 | Poseidon looks like in Field-Tested
The rifle is done in pale blue and turquoise, with white swirls running over the base. The main detail is a bright green figure of Poseidon with a trident and a yellow glow around it, standing on the side of the receiver by the magazine window. Greek meanders and a row of waves lie around the figure and along the handguard. The magazine is blue, the stock turquoise, and the barrel and carry handle are gray and unpainted.
Valve describes the scene as a battle between Pisces and Poseidon. In FT the edges of the receiver and handguard turn lighter, and the green figure on the flat side holds out the longest of anything. Float is recorded at the drop, so a listing at 0.16 and one at 0.32 stay as they dropped.
Where the M4A4 | Poseidon came from
Valve itself authored the finish: it was never posted to the Steam Workshop. The Gods and Monsters Collection opened in the game on May 26, 2015, and the M4A4 | Poseidon was in it from the first day. In Valve's skin catalog it is number 449.
What to check before buying
Before buying an M4A4 | Poseidon, check these:
- float: in the 0.15 to 0.33 band the light edges wear away more visibly toward the upper end;
- the edges of the handguard and receiver, where the blue base lightens first;
- stickers and an applied name: on the M4A4 | Poseidon they pass to the buyer with the listing.
There is no point hunting for the M4A4 | Poseidon by pattern index: the artwork does not change. In this wear you pick from the 0.15 to 0.33 band, and the look at the two ends of the band differs.
What the M4A4 | Poseidon costs in Field-Tested
The finish has three wears, and the spread between them is small. Factory New costs 9% more, and Minimal Wear 6% less. The order is unusual: the middle wear is cheaper than the lowest.
Among Classified M4A4 finishes this skin is the dearest by a wide margin. M4A4 | Hellfire is cheaper by roughly eleven times, M4A4 | Falak by fifty, and M4A4 | Cyber Security and one more finish by sixty to ninety.
Getting the M4A4 | Poseidon
No case holds the M4A4 | Poseidon. To trade up into it, you put in ten skins one rank below. The Gods and Monsters Collection has just one Classified skin, so with all ten from this collection you get exactly it. In a contract, the rifle then leads on to AWP | Medusa.
StatTrak and Souvenir
No StatTrak version of the M4A4 | Poseidon was ever released. There are no Souvenir packages for this finish either.
Stickers and craft on the M4A4 | Poseidon
The pale blue base suits dark, contrasting stickers, while pale blue and white ones vanish on it. The magazine and stock are free. Leave the side with the green figure uncovered: a sticker would hide the main detail.
Who this wear suits
The M4A4 | Poseidon in Field-Tested is the right buy if at least one of these applies:
- you want the Poseidon M4A4 for CS2, Factory New costs only 9% more, and a clean base is not required;
- the lightening edges do not bother you, and Minimal Wear, though 6% cheaper, does not fit on float;
- you are choosing by float within 0.15 to 0.33.
