MP7 | Fade (Field-Tested)

For the MP7 | Fade, Field-Tested (FT) is the lowest wear of this finish. The float runs from 0.15 to 0.25, and 0.25 is the ceiling set for the whole skin. It ranks Restricted and belongs to The 2018 Inferno Collection, with a metallic fade on the upper part of the body and nowhere else.

What the MP7 | Fade looks like in Field-Tested

The gradient is applied to the body only. The upper receiver goes from golden orange at the front through crimson pink to violet-blue at the rear, while the lower part and the pistol grip are golden orange. The magazine, the folding stock and the foregrip stay bare light metal, and the muzzle is black. Valve describes the finish as translucent paints airbrushed over a chrome base.

In Field-Tested, scuffing eats the upper ridges of the receiver and the edge by the magazine well first, and the color there wears down to light metal. A break in the gradient is noticeable at once, most of all in the pink middle. Wear is fixed at drop, so a listing at 0.15 stays cleaner than one at 0.25.

Where the MP7 | Fade came from

Valve drew the MP7 | Fade, and no Steam Workshop submission exists for it. The finish is number 752 in Valve's catalog and entered the game in September 2018.

What to check before buying

A listing is picked on these points:

• float: the wear fits inside 0.15 to 0.25, so listings look alike;

• the share of yellow, pink and violet on the body, since the color transition does not lie the same way on every copy;

• a name tag and stickers: on this MP7 | Fade they stay on the listing.

The pattern here is a draw: the ratio of colors changes from copy to copy. We have no confirmed premium for any one "lucky" layout, so compare copies by eye.

What the MP7 | Fade costs in Field-Tested

How the other wears compare:

• Factory New costs 1.53 times as much;

• Minimal Wear costs 1.04 times as much.

Of seven Restricted MP7 skins in this wear, it is the dearest, with none above it. The nearest below are MP7 | Neon Ply and MP7 | Impire, and the cheapest of all is MP7 | Just Smile.

Getting the MP7 | Fade

No regular case carries this finish. It drops from tournament Souvenir packages, for example the London 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package. A contract produces it too, fed with ten skins of the rank below from any collections; the result comes from the collection of one of the inputs. Ten from The 2018 Inferno Collection steer the result there, though nothing requires it.

StatTrak and Souvenir

StatTrak does not exist for the MP7 | Fade, though Souvenir packages did carry it.

Stickers and craft on the MP7 | Fade

Stickers on the colored receiver compete with the gradient, while the bare light metal of the magazine and stock gives a neutral backdrop. Dark stickers show better on the golden orange part, light ones on the violet tail.

Who this wear suits

Field-Tested pays off for the MP7 | Fade when:

• you want a gradient submachine gun in CS2 at the price of the finish's lowest wear;

• scuffs on the ridges of the body do not bother you;

• Factory New costs 1.53 times as much, and you would rather not pay that for an unbroken color transition.
