MP9 | Food Chain (Field-Tested)

Field-Tested (FT) on the MP9 | Food Chain means wear between 0.15 and 0.38. The skin is Classified, plays on the counter-terrorist side and belongs to The Snakebite Collection. In CS2 this is the central stretch of the finish, and in price it nearly matches the lower ones.

What the MP9 | Food Chain looks like in Field-Tested

The submachine gun is painted like a monster comic. A green tentacle lies across the top of the receiver, an orange fanged creature takes up the body, and the red folding stock ends in a pink butt plate. The front grip is multicolored, blue and purple with small red figures. The magazine is dark, with orange graphics. In Valve's description it is a food chain of monsters: eat or be eaten.

Field-Tested wear is moderate. The edges of the receiver, the stock frames and the top of the magazine are lightly rubbed. The artwork stays whole, and the tentacle and the mouth are easy to read. Here a bright finish still looks alive without being clean.

Where the MP9 | Food Chain came from

Valve released the skin on May 4, 2021, and it entered the Snakebite Case, where Valve gathered 17 community works, the same day. The rare special items of the case are the Broken Fang gloves.

What to check before buying the MP9 | Food Chain

Copies of the MP9 | Food Chain differ in three ways:

• float: the stretch from 0.15 to 0.38 is long, and copies at the two ends look noticeably different;

• pattern: there are no variants, so there is nothing to choose by;

• stickers on the body, and a name tag if it has one.

What the MP9 | Food Chain costs in Field-Tested

Factory New is dearer by more than a factor of four, and Minimal Wear by 1.7. Well-Worn is level, and Battle-Scarred is cheaper by only a few percent. So Field-Tested is almost equal to Well-Worn in price, with less wear on it.

Among Classified MP9s, Field-Tested is the cheapest of five. Hydra costs 1.6 times as much, Airlock more than three times as much, and Wild Lily hundreds of times as much.

Getting the MP9 | Food Chain

The route that needs no purchase is the Snakebite Case. The other way in is a contract: ten Restricted skins go in, and the result is drawn from the collection of one of the inputs. Ten from The Snakebite Collection simply narrow the outcome to that set.

Stickers and craft on the MP9 | Food Chain

The bright artwork points to single-color stickers in white, black or silver. They stay legible on the busy body and do not compete with the orange mouth.

Who this wear suits

The MP9 | Food Chain in Field-Tested makes sense when:

• you want a balance of wear and price on a long float stretch;

• you want to pick a copy at 0.15 to 0.20 without the surcharge of Factory New;

• you need a bright counter-terrorist SMG for a loadout.
