This is the MP9 | Hydra in Battle-Scarred (BS), the lowest rung of the finish by condition. The wear is given a float of 0.45 to 1.00, more than half of the skin's scale. It is a Classified skin from The CS20 Collection.
What the MP9 | Hydra looks like in Battle-Scarred
Acid green fills the body, and black veins branch over the upper part and the receiver like a hydra's tentacles. The lettering HYDRA reads on the side. The grip and magazine are partly green, with a scaly texture on the magazine grip, while the stock and the small mechanics stay dark.
In Battle-Scarred, the green paint and the black veins show the deepest wear of the five. The wear is set when the skin drops, and a copy stays as it is.
Where the MP9 | Hydra came from
The finish went into the CS20 Case and The CS20 Collection, issued for the twentieth anniversary of the series. The collection, and the MP9 | Hydra with it, joined the game in October 2019.
Valve writes that the paint job references Operation Hydra, the eighth CS:GO operation. The item description calls the MP9 a Swiss submachine gun of ergonomic polymer that private security firms like, and it is played on the Counter-Terrorist side. Valve's tagline is "Worth the Wait."
What to check before buying
Before paying for an MP9 | Hydra, check these:
- the float: the 0.45 to 1.00 band is wide, and lots from its two ends look different;
- the name tag and stickers: on the MP9 | Hydra they stay with the lot.
The design is rigid and does not depend on the copy.
What the MP9 | Hydra costs in Battle-Scarred
Moving up in wear, the finish gets expensive fast. Factory New costs nearly eight and a half times as much, Minimal Wear two and a half times, Field-Tested a quarter more. Well-Worn costs the same.
Four Classified MP9 skins have a price in this wear. Food Chain is cheaper, Latte Rush is a sixth pricier, and Airlock costs more than twice as much.
Getting the MP9 | Hydra
The skin drops from the CS20 Case. A trade-up for it takes ten Restricted skins from any collections, and the result comes from the collection of one of the inputs. Putting in all ten from CS20 points the outcome toward that collection, but it is not required.
StatTrak and Souvenir
A StatTrak version of the MP9 | Hydra exists. Souvenir packages for this finish do not.
Stickers and craft on the MP9 | Hydra
A green body laced with black veins is an unforgiving ground for stickers. Black and white ones hold up on the lime paint, while green ones disappear into it.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is a good buy for the MP9 | Hydra in these situations:
- you want an MP9 with the acid-green artwork at the price of the bottom wear;
- the artwork is the same on every lot, so float is all you have to choose by;
- deep paint wear is no obstacle.
In CS2, the wear is responsible only for how the skin looks.
