MP9 | Hydra (Well-Worn)

The MP9 | Hydra in Well-Worn (WW) costs almost the same as Battle-Scarred. Its float band is 0.38 to 0.45, and the skin ranks as Classified within The CS20 Collection.

What the MP9 | Hydra looks like in Well-Worn

The main color is acid green, and black branching lines like tentacles cross the body from above. The side carries the HYDRA lettering. The magazine is light green and almost translucent, the grip is dark with green inserts, and the stock is black.

The wear in Well-Worn already shows along the edges, but the artwork still reads whole. It was fixed at the drop and does not change with time.

Where the MP9 | Hydra came from

The case and the collection were both made for the twentieth anniversary of the series, and the skin is in both. The CS20 Collection with this skin came out in October 2019, and the MP9 | Hydra arrived in the same update.

Valve explains that the finish refers to Operation Hydra, the eighth CS:GO operation. Valve calls the MP9 an advanced Swiss submachine gun, and in the game it goes to the Counter-Terrorists. The paint job points to the operation, and the item's tagline is brief: "Worth the Wait."

What to check before buying

The differences between copies of the MP9 | Hydra come to this:

• the float, between 0.38 and 0.45;

• stickers and a name tag that a previous owner left on the MP9 | Hydra.

There is no spread in the pattern: what one lot has, the others have. The 0.38 to 0.45 band is narrow, and the difference between lots is hard to catch.

What the MP9 | Hydra costs in Well-Worn

Factory New costs almost nine times as much, Minimal Wear two and a half times, and Field-Tested a quarter more. Battle-Scarred costs about the same.

Among the five Classified MP9 skins with a price in this wear, only Food Chain sits lower. Latte Rush costs a third more, Airlock two and a half times as much, and Wild Lily hundreds of times more.

Getting the MP9 | Hydra

A second source of the MP9 | Hydra is a trade-up of ten Restricted skins. Those ten may come from anywhere, and the inputs decide the collection of the result; ten from CS20 alone is the player's choice. From the CS20 Case, the skin drops directly.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The MP9 | Hydra comes in a StatTrak version. For this finish there are no souvenir packages.

Stickers and craft on the MP9 | Hydra

The green field and the black veins leave room for stickers on the side. Black and white ones are noticeable, and green ones get lost.

Who this wear suits

Well-Worn is justified for the MP9 | Hydra in these cases:

• you want the acid-green look at a price close to Battle-Scarred;

• a float of 0.38 to 0.45 needs no hand-picking;

• the artwork matters more than clean paint.

In CS2, wear affects how the skin looks, not how the weapon performs.
