Nova | Ocular (Battle-Scarred)

This is the Nova | Ocular in Battle-Scarred (BS), the wear with the longest float band of the finish: 0.45 to 1.00, 55% of the whole scale. The skin is Restricted, belongs to The Genesis Collection and comes from the Sealed Genesis Terminal. In Battle-Scarred this shotgun costs less than seven of the nine Restricted Novas, and only Nova | Wild Six sits lower still.

What the Nova | Ocular looks like in Battle-Scarred

A blue-teal shotgun with repeating stylized eyes, in the spirit of Northwest Native American ornament. The base is dark blue-teal with cream-beige fields, the outlines are rusty orange, and the eyes themselves are light gray with a dark pupil. The forend is cream with teal, and the stock is blue with cream and teal eye shapes. The large oval eyes repeat, with one on the side of the receiver, one on the forend and two on the stock. The muzzle end and the trigger stay bare dark metal. The finish carries no lettering at all.

The orange outlines and cream ridges are thin and run along the protruding edges, so Battle-Scarred loses them first, together with the receiver edges. The large eyes hold on longest, since they sit on the flat side of the stock. The wear came with the item and does not change.

Where the Nova | Ocular came from

Kattys is the author of the finish; the submission "Nova | Ocular (blue)" went up in the Steam Workshop on February 19, 2025. The author calls the work a modern design drawing on abstract surrealism and twentieth-century artists. Simple geometric figures are combined with realistic details such as expressive eyes and an ear, as if they had come alive on the metal. The Genesis Collection was added to the game on September 16, 2025, and the Nova | Ocular arrived in that same update. Its number in Valve's catalog is 1350.

What to check before buying

Before buying a Nova | Ocular, these are what get checked:

• float, anywhere from 0.45 to 1.00: the higher it is, the fewer orange outlines survive on the edges;

• how readable the eyes are on the side of the receiver and on the stock;

• a name tag or stickers, which stay with the Nova | Ocular listing.

In this wear the float band is 0.45 to 1.00, stretched wide enough that you notice it on inspection. All copies share one design.

What the Nova | Ocular costs in Battle-Scarred

Factory New costs more than eight times as much as Battle-Scarred, and Minimal Wear three times as much. Field-Tested and Well-Worn are also dearer, by two-fifths and by a third; This is the lowest price point of the finish.

Nine Restricted Novas carry a price in this wear. Only Nova | Wild Six sits below the Ocular; above it are Nova | Rising Sun, Nova | Toy Soldier, Nova | Clear Polymer and Nova | Smart Gun. At the top of the row stand Nova | Sobek's Bite, Nova | Rising Skull and Nova | Baroque Orange.

Getting the Nova | Ocular

The Sealed Genesis Terminal is where the skin drops. A contract is another way to get it: ten Mil-Spec skins go in, from any collections. Putting in ten from Genesis is the player's way of steering the result, and it gives a one-in-five chance.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The Nova | Ocular has a StatTrak version. There is no Souvenir version of this finish.

Stickers and craft on the Nova | Ocular

The cream fields on the forend and stock give a sticker a light spot, though the eyes there compete with it. The dark bare metal at the muzzle stays open for small stickers. In CS2 a Battle-Scarred craft is built around the cream fields, until wear eats them.

Who this wear suits

Battle-Scarred makes sense on the Nova | Ocular in three cases:

• you want a Restricted shotgun at the lowest price of the finish;

• the eyes on the side and the stock matter more than the orange outlines;

• you plan to feed it into a CS2 trade-up.
