SG 553 | Dragon Tech (Field-Tested)

This is the SG 553 | Dragon Tech in Field-Tested (FT), and in this wear the skin costs less than any other Restricted SG 553. It is a Restricted skin from The Recoil Collection and the Recoil Case, for the Terrorist side. The rifle is visible from far away: it is almost entirely a toxic green.

What the SG 553 | Dragon Tech looks like in Field-Tested

The whole rifle is bright green with a winding pattern in which you can make out the long, serpentine body of a dragon over a dark technical texture. Toxic green and turquoise-green dominate, and the shadows of the pattern are dark gray and black. A thin red-orange stripe runs along the handguard.

Green covers the receiver, handguard, magazine, grip, stock and even the scope housing. The barrel and muzzle stay dark, while the muzzle edge and the eyepiece glow turquoise. In the middle of the receiver you can pick out a head with curls and a scaly band running toward the stock. In FT the green layer is rubbed down to dark metal in narrow strips along the edges of the handguard and the rail.

Where the SG 553 | Dragon Tech came from

The SG 553 | Dragon Tech appeared on July 4, 2022, the day The Recoil Collection was released. Valve called the update "A New Cassssssse". According to its note, the Recoil Case holds 17 finishes from community artists, with Broken Fang Gloves as its rare special items. Valve describes the artwork as a biomechanical green dragon.

What to check before buying

On the SG 553 | Dragon Tech, three things change from one listing to the next:

• float: the number matters more than the label, since the band of 0.15 to 0.38 holds quite different looks;

• how far the green is worn away along the handguard edges and the rail;

• any stickers and name tag already on the rifle.

The SG 553 | Dragon Tech has no pattern variants, so there is nothing to choose by pattern.

What the SG 553 | Dragon Tech costs in Field-Tested

Factory New (FN) costs 3.7 times as much, and Minimal Wear (MW) almost twice as much. Well-Worn (WW) costs 1.6 times as much, while Battle-Scarred (BS) is about a tenth cheaper.

Among the seven Restricted SG 553 skins, this one is the cheapest in the wear: six cost more. Darkwing is next in price, at one and a half times as much. Phantom, Tiger Moth and Triarch sit at three times, and Pulse at six and a half. Bulldozer costs hundreds of times more.

Getting the SG 553 | Dragon Tech

The skin drops from the Recoil Case. The second route to the SG 553 | Dragon Tech is a trade-up: hand in ten skins one rank lower from the same collection. The chance of getting it is one in five, and the other outcomes are AK-47 | Ice Coaled, P250 | Visions and Sawed-Off | Kiss♥Love.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The SG 553 | Dragon Tech has a StatTrak™ version. The skin has no Souvenir version.

Stickers and craft on the SG 553 | Dragon Tech

The green coating leaves almost no free spots, so stickers land on the pattern. White and dark stickers read best on the green, while lime and turquoise ones blend in. The dark barrel is the cleanest place for a small sticker.

Who this wear suits

Buying the SG 553 | Dragon Tech here makes sense if:

• you want a bright green rifle for CS2 at a lower price than any Restricted SG 553;

• float matters more than the label, and the band of 0.15 to 0.38 leaves room to choose;

• you want a Restricted skin priced below Phantom or Triarch.
