USP-S | Check Engine (Field-Tested)

The USP-S | Check Engine in Field-Tested (FT) is a suppressed USP covered end to end in a red mesh, made for the Counter-Terrorist side in CS2. It is a Mil-Spec skin from The 2018 Inferno Collection. There is no regular case: copies come from tournament souvenir packages, from London 2018 to Budapest 2025. This wear gets a float from 0.15 to 0.38, which is 38% of the skin's scale, running from 0.00 to 0.60.

What the USP-S | Check Engine looks like in Field-Tested

The base is a saturated scarlet with a mesh of rounded hexagonal cells on top. The cells are dark red with an olive-brown tint, almost black in places. Each cell has a dark outline and a lighter center, so the pattern reads as both honeycomb and scales.

The mesh runs over the whole pistol and the whole suppressor: frame, slide, grip, with nothing left clean. Only the sight and the trigger stay dark. Despite the name, there is no car or dashboard imagery on the skin.

Wear is fixed at the moment of drop and doesn't change afterward. In Field-Tested it is set by the float of the particular lot, not by time of ownership.

What to check before buying

In a USP-S | Check Engine lot, check these points:

• float: the 0.15 to 0.38 band is wide, and copies from its edges differ to the eye;


• the name tag and stickers, if they are already on this USP-S | Check Engine;


• copy type: a Souvenir copy carries the tournament's gold stickers, a regular one doesn't.

The artwork on the USP-S | Check Engine doesn't vary, so pattern plays no part in the choice.

What the USP-S | Check Engine costs in Field-Tested

Factory New costs 3 times as much, Minimal Wear 1.55 times, and Well-Worn 10% more. Battle-Scarred is cheaper by 1.11 times: the spread between neighboring wears is small on this skin.

Among Mil-Spec skins for the USP-S, this wear sits in the middle of a row of fifteen: six skins are cheaper and eight are more expensive. Slightly more expensive is Torque, and slightly cheaper are Alpine Camo and USP-S | 27. The cheapest in the row is Night Ops, while Business Class, Blueprint and Stainless cost several times more than all the others.

StatTrak and Souvenir

The USP-S | Check Engine has no StatTrak version. Souvenir copies exist: they were issued in the Inferno tournament packages and can also be made through the Souvenir-O-Matic.

Stickers and craft on the USP-S | Check Engine

The mesh covers the whole pistol, so there is no clean field for a sticker, and any sticker lands over the cells. Light stickers stand out more on the scarlet base than dark ones, which blend into the dark cells.
