For the USP-S | Cortex, Well-Worn (WW) is the float band from 0.38 to 0.45. It is a Classified skin from The Clutch Collection, and in CS2 it is a pink USP-S with a moderately scuffed body.
What the USP-S | Cortex looks like in Well-Worn
Pink gum spreads across the suppressor in the letters USP and climbs the slide in curls. The background is a light gray-green, the frame is the color of rust, and the grip holds a pale skull with ribs. Valve signed the skin with the words "Keep your head."
In Well-Worn the rusty frame and the light scuffs on the edges do not yet swallow the drawing. The word USP on the suppressor reads in full, and the skull on the grip is easy to make out.
Where the USP-S | Cortex came from
Glasgow died submitted the finish to the Steam Workshop under the name "USP-S CUT" on August 7, 2015. He compared the USP to a scalpel in a surgeon's hand, hence the split skull. The pink brains, he added, are "just gum." The skin reached the game in February 2018 through the Clutch Case and The Clutch Collection. The finish's number in Valve's catalog is 705.
What to check before buying
Before paying, it helps to check:
- float: with only 0.38 to 0.45 to work with, the gap between two listings is lost in the margin of error;
- pattern: the drawing does not vary, so pattern plays no part in the choice;
- any name tag and stickers this USP-S already carries.
What the USP-S | Cortex costs in Well-Worn
Factory New costs almost eight times as much, Minimal Wear twice as much, and Field-Tested a twelfth more. Battle-Scarred is a seventh cheaper.
Among Classified USP-S finishes, the Cortex in Well-Worn is worth only a few percent more than Jawbreaker. Spiral Glitch and Monster Mashup cost six to seven times as much, and Caiman and Whiteout more than eleven times.
Getting the USP-S | Cortex
The route that needs no purchase is the Clutch Case. A trade-up contract takes ten Restricted skins, and the result comes from the collection of one of the inputs. A ten from The Clutch Collection steers it, though nothing obliges the player to build it that way.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The USP-S | Cortex has a StatTrak version. There is no Souvenir version of the finish.
Stickers and craft on the USP-S | Cortex
The pink and gray-green field holds its color, so neutral stickers sit without a clash. Bright ones are better placed on the light frame than on the suppressor.
Who this wear suits
Well-Worn is the right pick for the USP-S | Cortex if:
- you want a cheap USP-S with an authored Workshop story behind it;
- a pink suppressor matters more than a flawless frame;
- the choice is between Field-Tested (FT) and Well-Worn, and the price gap is minimal.
