The USP-S | Cyrex in Field-Tested (FT) is the working middle: the white parts of the frame have already darkened, while the red marks are intact. The wear band is 0.15 to 0.38. The skin is Restricted rank; this USP comes from the Glove Case.
What the USP-S | Cyrex looks like in Field-Tested
The finish has three colors. The suppressor and the slide are entirely dark gray, almost black, while the front half of the frame, together with the trigger guard, is white. Red is used for accents: rings and a triangle on the suppressor, a panel with the CYREX signature on the slide, a triangle on the grip. A white wedge cuts into the dark in a sharp diagonal right on the frame, and that join holds the whole composition together. The red elements sit in spots, like technical marks. USP TACTICAL is legible on the slide, and small markings and numbers sit on the suppressor.
In Field-Tested the white parts of the frame and the guard get dirty first: grime shows best on them. The red inserts fade next, starting from the edges. The black parts hide wear, so a copy's condition is read from the white wedge. At 0.15 the white is close to the factory state; at 0.38 it fades to gray.
Where the USP-S | Cyrex came from
The finish was drawn by an artist who goes by Nextgenz. The USP-S | Cyrex appeared in the game on November 28, 2016. In Valve's catalog the skin is number 637. The Glove Case's rare special items are Extraordinary gloves; it holds no knives at all.
What to check before buying
When choosing a USP-S | Cyrex, people look at the following:
- float within 0.15 to 0.38: the white wedge darkens before anything else;
- the finish's scale ends at 0.55, so Battle-Scarred is cut short on it;
- stickers and a name tag already on this copy of the USP-S | Cyrex.
There is no "rare" pattern to buy on the USP-S | Cyrex: the artwork is the same on every copy. On the USP-S | Cyrex, the span from 0.15 to 0.38 holds a difference worth comparing several listings for.
What the USP-S | Cyrex costs in Field-Tested
FT stands against the neighboring wears like this:
- Factory New costs more than twelve times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs two thirds more;
- Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred are level with FT, with a difference of less than a tenth.
The bottom of this finish's scale has no steps: from Field-Tested down, the price barely moves. The whole gap is gathered at the top, at Factory New, where the white wedge is untouched.
Among Restricted USP skins, the USP-S | Cyrex in this wear is sixth from the top out of twelve. The nearest one below is USP-S | Guardian, cheaper by about a fifth. Above it stand USP-S | Orange Anolis, USP-S | Road Rash and USP-S | Dark Water, the last of which costs almost twenty times more.
Getting the USP-S | Cyrex
The main source is the Glove Case, where this pistol drops.
The USP-S | Cyrex is built through a trade-up of ten skins of the rank below. The set has five Restricted skins, and with all ten from it the chance of landing on this pistol is one in five.
StatTrak and Souvenir
Stickers and craft on the USP-S | Cyrex
A StatTrak version of the USP-S | Cyrex exists. Souvenir copies of this finish turn up too, but no packages were released for it: they were made only for the tournament map collections. Such copies are built through the Souvenir-O-Matic, which puts gold tournament stickers and a player autograph on an ordinary skin from your inventory.
This finish does have an even field: the white frame and the black suppressor take stickers without arguing with the artwork. Dark stickers read on the white; on the black, light and red ones work, and the red ones also pick up the finish's accents. Green and yellow fall out of this palette. In FT a sticker on the white part sits next to darkened paint, and the higher the float, the more visible the contrast.
Who this wear suits
Field-Tested is worth buying for the USP-S | Cyrex if:
- you want a recognizable USP for CS2 without paying extra for the top of the scale;
- price matters more than a clean white wedge: below this wear there is almost no saving;
- the pistol is going into the game rather than up close for inspection.
The difference in money between FT and the two more worn wears is almost zero, while the white wedge is cleaner here. That is why there is little point in going below this wear.
