The USP-S | Flashback in Field-Tested (FT) is the working part of the wear scale, where blotches and scuffs already show but the artwork is intact. It is Restricted rank, drops from the Danger Zone Case and belongs to The Danger Zone Collection. The skin comes in five wears, and you can buy the USP-S | Flashback for CS2 in any of them.
What the USP-S | Flashback looks like in Field-Tested
The pistol looks like a weapon painted by a soldier: mottled olive and khaki across the body, stenciled plates and hand lettering. The lettering is white and creamy yellow, and an olive-yellow plate sits on the slide.
A big "SHHH!" takes up the side of the suppressor. The slide plate reads "BORN TO CLUTCH", with a smaller "PRESS TWICE" beneath it. A round emblem with a peace sign is drawn on the grip. The frame and the underside stay plain camouflage.
In this wear the lettering paint has cracked and flaked in places, and the camouflage is grubby, running in dark smears. That does not spoil the artwork, which was designed to look battered.
Where the USP-S | Flashback came from
The Danger Zone Collection came out on December 7, 2018, and the USP-S | Flashback arrived with the same update. Valve pairs it with a line about the duality of man: by that text, the pistol is painted by hand.
What to check before buying
Copies of the USP-S | Flashback differ in these ways:
- float: the higher it is, the more flaked paint on the lettering;
- stickers and applied name: on the USP-S | Flashback they stay with the listing;
- version: StatTrak is a separate item and costs noticeably more.
There is no point hunting for the USP-S | Flashback by pattern index, because the artwork never changes. On this skin the float number matters more than the wear label: the span from 0.15 to 0.38 holds different looks.
What the USP-S | Flashback costs in Field-Tested
The other wears compare with this one as follows:
- Factory New costs more than five times as much;
- Minimal Wear costs about 1.4 times as much;
- Well-Worn costs about a third more;
- Battle-Scarred costs almost double.
Of twelve Restricted USP-S skins, this one is the cheapest in Field-Tested. Closest in price is USP-S | Royal Guard, a tenth higher, followed by USP-S | Ticket to Hell and Bleeding Edge. The priciest are USP-S | Dark Water, Road Rash and Orange Anolis.
Getting the USP-S | Flashback
The skin comes from the Danger Zone Case. A trade-up for the USP-S | Flashback takes ten skins of the rank below, all from one collection. The chance of getting exactly this skin is one in five.
It goes into trade-ups itself, too: ten Restricted skins of the set give one Classified. The exchange brings no gain, but as an input this skin is the cheapest in the set.
StatTrak and Souvenir
The USP-S | Flashback has a StatTrak version. There are no Souvenir packages for the skin, but a souvenir copy can be made through the Souvenir-O-Matic.
Stickers and craft on the USP-S | Flashback
The camouflage is mottled and the lettering is light, so stickers compete with the text. The calmest areas are the suppressor near the barrel and the lower part of the frame. Dark, saturated stickers win on the olive background, while white ones get lost beside the lettering.
Who this wear suits
The USP-S | Flashback in Field-Tested makes sense when:
- you want a hand-painted USP-S at a price from the lower part of the rank;
- scuffed paint does not bother you and even underlines the soldier look;
- choosing by float within a wide band matters to you.
