Description

This is the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive in Field-Tested (FT), and on the brown zombie collage the scuffs barely read. Field-Tested spans the band from 0.15 to 0.38 on this finish. It is ranked Restricted, and the shotgun comes from the Dreams & Nightmares Case.

What the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive looks like in Field-Tested

A brown and ochre base with orange and green blotches covers the receiver, the handguard and the tube magazine. The zombie figures are drawn in dark brown and beige, and a few have visible faces. The stock and grip are light gray with some beige and almost no pattern. From a distance the scene reads as spotted camouflage rather than a set of drawings.

Across the 0.15 to 0.38 stretch, scuffing builds up in a way you can see. The edges of the receiver and handguard lighten: brown fades to gray there, and the figures lose their outlines along the borders. On a motley base this is hard to spot, and only a close look catches the difference. It is the widest band on the finish's scale, which stops at 0.50.

Where the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive came from

The Dreams & Nightmares Collection, with this shotgun in it, was released on January 21, 2022. The finish was drawn by oKeyush, a Steam Workshop author. In the case's release note Valve wrote that seventeen finishes of the set were picked from the Workshop. In Valve's finish catalog the artwork is number 1135.

What to check before buying

When choosing an XM1014 | Zombie Offensive, buyers look at the following:

  • float within 0.15 to 0.38: near the lower limit the receiver edges are still brown;

  • the color layout on the particular copy;

  • the name tag and stickers this shotgun already carries.

Pattern and how it varies

The finish is multicolor anodizing here, and the color layout depends on the pattern index. Copies differ in more than wear: the orange and green blotches land differently on each one. Check this against the listing's image in CS2, because the wear label says nothing about the pattern.

What the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive costs in Field-Tested

Factory New costs about twice as much, and Minimal Wear about a seventh more. Below this wear the price stops falling: Well-Worn and Battle-Scarred sit level with it, with next to nothing between them.

Among Restricted XM1014 skins priced in this wear, the finish is the cheapest of ten. Its nearest neighbor, XM1014 | Solitude, costs about a sixth more, and XM1014 | Teclu Burner twice as much. The gap is larger at the top of the rank: XM1014 | Heaven Guard is about nine times higher, and XM1014 | Ancient Lore almost forty times.

Getting the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive

The finish has a single case, the Dreams & Nightmares Case, and no other case carries this artwork.

Ten skins one rank lower from this collection make one XM1014 | Zombie Offensive. The collection has five Restricted finishes, so the chance of landing on this shotgun is one in five.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive exists. Souvenir packages were never made for this finish, since those went only to tournament map collections. You can still assemble a Souvenir copy yourself, because the Souvenir-O-Matic applies gold tournament stickers and a player autograph to a regular skin from your inventory. As a result, single Souvenir copies show up now and then even where no package was ever released.

Stickers and craft on the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive

The motley brown base swallows small graphics: light solid stickers read here, while dark brown ones vanish. The most open space is on the light stock, where there is almost no pattern. On the receiver edges part of a sticker will wear away along with the paint.

Who this wear suits

Buying the XM1014 | Zombie Offensive in Field-Tested is justified when:

  • you want an inexpensive Restricted shotgun for CS2;

  • wear is secondary, since on the spotted base it gets lost;

  • the copy is chosen by color layout and not by float alone.

Taking Well-Worn or Battle-Scarred to save money makes no sense: they cost the same and look worse. The gap to Factory New, meanwhile, is twofold.
