Battle-Scarred (BS) is the most worn form of the ★ M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate. It is Covert rank, an item with the ★ mark, and it drops from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case. In CS2 this is an M9 Bayonet with a dark blade and a light handle, and it fills the knife slot for both sides. This wear is given the band 0.45 to 1.00, which is 55% of the finish's whole scale.
What the ★ M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate looks like in Battle-Scarred
The blade is dark graphite, with silvery scuffs along the edge and across the flat, and Valve's description says the knife was stonewashed. A saw runs along the spine, and a round hole is punched through the blade. The guard and the ring are dark, while the handle is light, gray-beige, with ribbed segments along its whole length.
Wear is fixed at the drop and never changes afterward. In Battle-Scarred the edge and the flat already look scuffed, but on a stonewashed finish that look is built into the paint. Between 0.45 and 1.00 there is a spread large enough to justify comparing several listings.
Phase and pattern
Pattern does not move the price here, because it is the same on every copy. The finish has no phases or gems: two listings in one wear differ only in float and the condition of the edge.
What to check before buying
What separates one ★ M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate from another:
- float: the band is wide, and at its two ends the blade looks different;
- the edge and the saw teeth: that is where the scuffing is most noticeable;
- applied name: a name tag is allowed on the knife, but there are no sticker slots;
- counter version: a StatTrak knife in this finish is a separate item.
What the ★ M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate costs in Battle-Scarred
Factory New costs 1.67 times as much and Minimal Wear 1.11 times. Field-Tested and Well-Worn are level with Battle-Scarred, within three percent.
Among Covert M9 Bayonets in this wear, the finish stands in the upper third: of eighteen, twelve cost less and five cost more. Blue Steel and Crimson Web sit slightly higher, Case Hardened and Damascus Steel are almost level, and Lore remains below. The cheapest here are Boreal Forest, Forest DDPAT and Safari Mesh, and the priciest is Autotronic.
Getting the ★ M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate
The finish drops from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case along with the other knives of those cases, and the wear is random at the drop.
The other way in is a craft. Five Covert skins of one type, all regular or all StatTrak, turn into a random rare special item from the collections of the skins put in. Model and finish are not chosen at the output.
Is there a StatTrak version
The M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate can also be found with StatTrak in the game.
Who this wear suits
Battle-Scarred is worth buying on the ★ M9 Bayonet | Black Laminate for these reasons:
- you want a dark bayonet with silvery scuffing, and the price gap to Field-Tested and Well-Worn is under three percent;
- it matters that the finish looks the same on every copy, since pattern does not change it;
- the knife is for a loadout in gray and graphite tones, where the light handle is the only accent.
