Description

What the Crown Is

Crown of Tears is an Immortal head piece for Morphling, and despite the loud rarity line it asks under $1. That makes it one of the cheapest ways to put a top-tier collector item on a hero.

What the Description Tells You

The item occupies Morphling's head and redraws the upper part of his fluid model. Every other slot stays free for whatever else you own.

Rarity is Immortal — in Dota 2 that is the step directly beneath arcana, formally above Legendary and Mythical.

It has no effect on play. Waveform, Morph and attack speed are the same with the crown on as without it.

Why an Immortal Costs Less Than Small Cosmetics

In the in-game text, Morphling gathers the debris thrown off as he crashed into this world and forges himself regalia out of whatever came to hand.

The logic is simple enough: if war is how this place works, he will dress for it. For a hero with no fixed shape that is a decent explanation.

The Date Received line in the description belongs to the individual copy and says nothing about when the item was released.

How It Reads on the Hero

The rarity tier records how a piece entered the game, not how many of them there are. Immortals were handed out in enormous batches through tournament treasures.

Hundreds of thousands of players opened those treasures, and a share of the contents settled on the market in volumes that demand never matched.

A cheap Immortal is therefore normal rather than suspicious. Nothing is defective about the copy; it is the same object everyone else owns.

What a copy goes for right now is shown in the card above.

Who It Suits

Morphling is a translucent water figure, so any detail on him catches the eye differently than it would on solid plate. The crown registers immediately.

He also changes shape constantly — Morph turns him into a copy of an ally, and during that stretch his cosmetics are not on screen at all.

For a carry that is a fair trade. The rest of the time the piece is visible, and asking for more at this price would be strange.

Where to Buy Crown of Tears

Players who take Morphling on position one and want the head slot closed off by something decent for pocket change.

Anyone filling an inventory by rarity, since the Immortal line comes effortlessly at this level.

Newcomers dressing a hero for the first time. The gap on screen between a cheap Immortal and a three-figure piece is narrower than people assume.

Nobody holds this as an investment: the run is huge and the price has nowhere in particular to go.

From this page it is two steps: Steam login, then payment by card, cryptocurrency or e-wallet.

The crown arrives in the Steam inventory and the armoury picks it up inside the game. Putting it back up for sale with a withdrawal works from here as well.

Morphling's other cosmetics sit alongside in the catalogue, and at this level dressing the hero completely costs less than one decent weapon.
