The ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 in Factory New (FN) is the blue phase of Doppler on the CS2 bayonet. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The knife drops from the Chroma Case and from Chroma 2 Case and Chroma 3 Case. The phase's float scale stops at 0.08, so there are two wears: Factory New and Minimal Wear (MW), which carries the scale to its edge.
What the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 looks like in Factory New
The blade is flooded with blue that has a violet cast. The color thickens toward the spine, dark smoky swirls run across the flat, and the lacquer lightens along the cutting edge. The round hole near the tip is left unpainted. The guard stays bare, light metal, and the handle is olive-gray with crosswise ribs: paint sits on the blade only.
In this wear the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 spans 0.00 to 0.07. The lacquer is intact along the whole blade, and the cutting edge near the tip is the first place wear takes. Wear is fixed at the drop and does not grow afterward.
Where the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 came from
Valve drew Doppler itself, and the finish has no Steam Workshop submission. It is number 421 in the finish catalog and came out on January 8, 2015, together with the Chroma Case. The bayonet is in that case and in Chroma 2 Case and Chroma 3 Case as well.
Phase and pattern
The phase is part of the item name, so Phase 4 is picked on the page and not pulled out of a case. Phases 1 to 4 are the regular ones. Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl are gems, the rare Doppler variants, and are listed as separate items.
Phase 3 is close to Phase 4 in color, and in a small preview the two are easy to mix up. Copies of Phase 4 also differ among themselves: the pattern index changes the ratio of colors and where they sit on the face of the blade.
What to check before buying
Before buying the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4, check a few points:
- the phase in the lot title: Phase 4 and Sapphire are both blue, yet their prices differ by more than a factor of two;
- an applied name: a name tag is possible on the bayonet, and after purchase it stays on the item;
- the version: a lot with StatTrak™ is sold as its own item.
The float spread of 0.00 to 0.07 is too small to choose by.
What the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 costs in Factory New
Minimal Wear runs 1.2 times the price of the top wear, so Factory New here is cheaper than its neighboring wear.
Among the regular phases of the bayonet, Phase 4 sits level with Phases 1 and 3, within three percent. Phase 2 is a fifth higher. The gems pull far ahead: Sapphire is 2.7 times Phase 4, Ruby 4.3 times, Black Pearl 7.6 times.
Across all bayonet finishes, Phase 4 lies in the middle: of 31 finishes, 14 are cheaper and 16 dearer. Its neighbors are Blue Steel (one percent higher), Lore (about ten percent higher) and Slaughter (six percent lower). Bright Water, Freehand and Damascus Steel cost half of Phase 4 or less.
Getting the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4
The bayonet drops from the three Chroma cases as a rare ★ item, and the phase is random: Phase 4 cannot be ordered at the opening. The second route is a trade-up. Five Covert skins of one collection yield one ★ item, but neither the model nor the phase is chosen there. A specific bayonet phase is bought as a ready listing.
Is there a StatTrak version
The StatTrak™ version of the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 exists in the game.
Who this wear suits
Buying the ★ Bayonet | Doppler Phase 4 in Factory New makes sense in three cases:
- you want a blue bayonet, and Ruby and Sapphire are out of budget;
- your CS2 loadout is built in blues, with a neutral guard and handle;
- you want a price below Minimal Wear: on a scale that ends at 0.08, the difference between the two wears is minimal to the eye.
