★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire (Factory New)

On the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire, Factory New (FN) takes up almost the whole scale the finish has. Doppler never climbs past 0.08 on this knife, which squeezes the second wear, Minimal Wear, into the last hundredth. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. Both the Spectrum Case and the Spectrum 2 Case drop it.

What the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire looks like in Factory New

The blade is blue throughout, with purple bleeding in near the heel and pale light-blue highlights spread across the face. The blue lightens toward the point and sits darkest at the base. The handles are black, each half carrying a glowing turquoise stripe, and the latch is blue too. The pivot screws and the lock stay bare metal, so three textures read at once: lacquer, glow and steel.

The float band is 0.00 to 0.07. The stretch is short, and chasing a number inside it buys nothing. Wear strips paint from the cutting edge and the raised handle ribs, and the turquoise stripe goes at its edges.

Where the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire came from

Valve authored the finish, and Doppler never passed through the Steam Workshop. The model is older than the paint: the butterfly knife arrived with Operation Breakout in 2014. Doppler was laid onto it only on March 15, 2017, with the Take a trip to the Canals update. Valve's catalog lists the finish as number 416. A note of May 24, 2024 announced that Doppler was reworked visually for CS2.

Phase and pattern

Doppler has seven variants, picked on the product page itself: Phase 1 through Phase 4, plus Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl. Those last three count as gems, and the emerald Gamma Doppler of this model joins them. Sapphire and Black Pearl occur on Doppler only, while the green Emerald exists on Gamma Doppler alone.

Inside Sapphire the pattern index changes how the texture falls: where the pale highlights land and where the purple bleeds through. Sources report differently on whether a good index inside a gem is paid for, so budget no premium for it.

What to check before buying

Copies differ in the following:

• the phase in the title: Sapphire is easy to confuse with a lucky Phase 4, whose blade is also almost entirely blue;

• the float: it changes nothing inside the wear, and the number still gets a look;

• the name tag: this knife takes one, and the inscription transfers with the listing;

• the version: a StatTrak copy sells on its own.

What the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire costs in Factory New

Among the model's Covert finishes Sapphire is fourth of thirty-two. Butterfly Knife | Gamma Doppler Emerald, Butterfly Knife | Doppler Ruby and Butterfly Knife | Doppler Black Pearl rank above it. Of the four gems on this model, Sapphire is the cheapest. Below it the ordinary part of the rank begins: Crimson Web, Doppler Phase 2 and Doppler Phase 4.

Getting the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire

The Spectrum Case and the Spectrum 2 Case give the knife up as the rare ★ item, and the game assigns the phase. The craft skips your choice too: five Covert skins of one collection turn into a random knife or gloves. Sapphire by name comes from a ready listing only.

StatTrak and Souvenir

A StatTrak version of the ★ Butterfly Knife | Doppler Sapphire exists in game, and no souvenir release does.

Who this wear suits

Buying this wear makes sense when:

• a gem is the goal but the top three have priced themselves out;

• the turquoise stripe on the handles has to run unbroken end to end;

• the loadout is built in blue and turquoise, and black handle plastic fits it.
