It is Covert rank, with the ★ mark, and the knife drops from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case. The finish has two wears, since the ceiling of the float scale sits at 0.08. The scale of this wear of the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3 lies between 0.00 and 0.07.

What the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3 looks like in Factory New

The blade bends back and ends in a sharp point; Valve calls this shape Persian. The light blue lacquer at the tip turns blue and, nearer the handle, green, with dark smoky patches over the whole blade. A short serrated section runs at the base of the edge. The handle is olive-gray, with slanted ribs, and the screws and inserts are turquoise.

In Factory New the lacquer on the blade is untouched. Wear is set at the drop, so the float figure stays what it was. For the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3 this wear is a narrow stretch of 0.00 to 0.07, with little to separate one listing from the next.

Where the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3 came from

The flip knives with Gamma Doppler came out in 2016, with the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case, and those two remain the only sources of the finish.

Phase and pattern

The phase is already built into the item name: Phase 3 is taken as a separate listing, not waited for from a case. Gamma Doppler has five named phases: Phases 1 to 4 and Emerald. Emerald is the family's only gem, while Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl exist only on Doppler.

The color of Phase 3 has to be seen, not guessed from the name: the copy is chosen by the listing image.

What to check before buying

When choosing the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3, pay attention to the following:

• the phase in the listing name: Phase 3, the other phases and Emerald are sold as separate items;

• an applied name: a name tag on a flip knife is allowed and stays on the item after purchase;

• StatTrak: a copy with a counter is its own listing.

What the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3 costs in Factory New

Minimal Wear (MW) costs more, though it takes up one hundredth of the scale, the stretch from 0.07 to 0.08. Among the Gamma Doppler phases, Phase 3 is close to Phases 1 and 4, which are cheaper by three and five percent. Phase 2 costs an eighth more, and Emerald more than three times as much.

Of the flip knife's 31 finishes in Factory New, Phase 3 stands above the middle: twenty-one cost less and nine cost more. Urban Masked is two percent higher, Doppler Phase 2 seven percent lower, and Case Hardened eight. The top of the lineup belongs to Gamma Doppler Emerald, with Doppler Ruby and Black Pearl. The cheapest finishes, Bright Water, Damascus Steel and Freehand, sit almost three times lower.

Getting the ★ Flip Knife | Gamma Doppler Phase 3

This flip knife drops from the Gamma Case and the Gamma 2 Case, and both the phase and the wear come out random. A trade-up contract works too: five Covert skins from one collection fold into a rare special item, but you cannot order the knife or the phase. A chosen phase of the flip knife can be had only as a ready-made listing.
