★ Karambit | Fade (Factory New)

★ Karambit | Fade in Factory New (FN): a CS2 karambit with a transition from purple to crimson and pink-red over a chrome base. Covert rank, with the ★ mark. The karambit drops from eleven cases, from the CS:GO Weapon Case to the Revolver Case. The float scale ends at 0.08, so Fade on the karambit has two wears: the top one lies at 0.00 to 0.07, and Minimal Wear (MW) sits above it.

What the ★ Karambit | Fade looks like in Factory New

A transition runs along the curved blade: purple at the spine, then crimson, and pink-red at the cutting edge, with white glints in places. Valve describes the finish as translucent paints airbrushed onto a chrome base. The ring at the end of the handle is silver, with no colored paint, while the handle itself is gray and ribbed.

In Factory New the chrome base and the color are intact along the whole arc. The cutting edge near the tip takes wear first. Wear is fixed at drop, so a knife stays the way it dropped.

Phase and pattern

Fade has no phases, so the listing caption offers nothing to choose from. Copies are compared by the picture: the length of the transition toward the tip shows there, but not in the name. We have no confirmed data on how that length affects price, and we will not credit it with a premium.

What to check before buying

When choosing a ★ Karambit | Fade listing, this matters:

• the transition percentage in the image, which shows how far the color has gone along the blade;

• name tag: a name can be applied to a karambit, but stickers cannot go on it;

• the StatTrak version, a separate item with its own price;

• float: this wear is a tight band of 0.00 to 0.07, where it is hard to catch any difference between listings.

What the ★ Karambit | Fade costs in Factory New

Minimal Wear costs about a third more than the top wear. On a finish whose scale ends at 0.08, the surcharge pays for the more worn wear, not for the clean one.

Among karambit finishes, Fade stands level with Night, Gamma Doppler Phase 3, Doppler Phase 2 and Boreal Forest. Above it stand Gamma Doppler Phase 1 and 2, Case Hardened and Ultraviolet. Gems and Crimson Web cost several times more. Doppler Phase 1, 3 and 4 are cheaper by a quarter or more.

Getting the ★ Karambit | Fade

The ★ Karambit | Fade drops from eleven cases, among them the Operation Bravo Case, the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case and the Revolver Case. The transition percentage and the wear come out random. A trade-up is the second route: five Covert skins from one collection turn into one rare special item, and the finish is not chosen there. For a Fade with a specific percentage, buy a finished listing.

Is there a StatTrak version?

A StatTrak version of the ★ Karambit | Fade exists in the game.
